Kimiko Heroux gets credit for giving me the idea for this one with Luka's reaction.

Luka set his blue Communicator on the table. Phoebe had just called him, letting him know she and Jahara would be back soon. Jahara hadn't been feeling well lately and was a bit moody. Phoebe had gone with her to the healer's to keep her company. Luka had made Jahara's favorite dinner and got a bouquet of her favorite flowers.

Phoebe had confirmed Jahara wasn't sick, which had been Luka's worry. So maybe Jahara was feeling a bit off and a little stressed. The Tigeroids normally visited several times a month, but this time they were all busy so Jahara missed them a little. The last time they hadn't seen them for so long was after they had gotten married and spent weeks on their honeymoon. That had been a year ago. The date of the wedding was the one year anniversary after Luka confessed he loved Jahara, which had finally freed her from the Hideous Tai Chi's control. Several months after the war ended, he had attempted to propose to her, but got so nervous she had to finish for him. Phoebe still teased him about it occasionally, saying that, really, Jahara had proposed to him instead.

When Jahara and Phoebe got back Luka greeted Jahara with a hug.

Phoebe frowned. "Don't I get one?"

Jahara answered. "I'm not finished yet." She gave Luka another squeeze and let him hug his sister.

"Thank you for going with her," Luka said, letting her go. "Why are you smiling like that?"

"I'm not smiling." Her big, knowing smile said otherwise. "Really."

Luka glanced at Jahara.

"I promised to get a Tai Chi card for her later." She pushed a loose strand of her past shoulder-length hair back.

That still didn't explain it….

They ate dinner slowly, enjoying the food.

"What did the healer say?" Luka asked.

"I'm fine," Jahara said, "I'll be feeling better soon."

Phoebe giggled and quickly took a drink when Luka looked at her.

"While I was being checked over she went to the nearby market and bought candied fruit," Jahara said.

Luka sighed into his hand. "Phoebe…."

Phoebe smiled happily. "I got free samples!"

Luka gave her a long, hard stare. "Save some for me next time."

Phoebe started laughing.

"I actually have to go back," Jahara said.

Luka looked at her. "What?"

Jahara glanced at Phoebe.

"The sooner he knows the better," she said, her knowing smile coming back.

Luka watched Jahara's face. "Jahara?"

Jahara looked down at her plate, voice calm. "The healer said I should go back occasionally so she can check how the baby is doing."

Luka breathed a sigh of relief and was about to take another bite of food. He frowned and looked back up, confusion turning to blank surprise went over his face. "Wait… you're… you're…."

Jahara nodded and looked up when there was a thud. "Luka?"

Phoebe stared down at the floor. "He told me he reacted the same way when he found out Mom was pregnant with me."

"Is he going to be okay?"

"He'll go with you next time you go to the healer's, pass out again, and then we can ask."

Jahara nodded in agreement. She frowned. "How is he going to react when the baby is born in six months?"
