'WEASLEY, RONALD'

Ron heard his name and wanted to start walking towards the Hat, but he couldn't move. He stood there, frozen, for what seemed a lot of time to him, but were only a couple of seconds.

He was feeling sick and was sure everybody could see it, but he couldn't care less about it, because he had more important things to worry about, like where he was going to be sorted. If Ron had been thinking he would have realized his parents would have been proud of him even if he didn't end in Gryffindor. However, the problem was exactly that… he wasn't thinking.

The truth was Ron was scared. Scared of disappointing his family, scared of how his brothers were going to tease him later. Suddenly spiders seemed completely harmless beings compared to what the Hat would say.

He had to move and move fast. If people like Neville, the shy boy he had met on the train hours before, could do it, then so could he. And with that in mind he took a step forward, and then another one and another one, until he reached the Hat.

When Ron sat and felt the Hat on his head he looked at his brothers sitting at the Gryffindor table. What he saw was something he would never forget… acceptance and pride on their faces. Ron knew then everything was going to be alright.

Only a second later the Sorting Hat shouted 'GRYFFINDOR'.

A.N. I have more one shots with the thoughts of other characters right before their sorting. What do you think? Should I post them?
