This is My first Ghost hunt fanfiction. One shot. Enjoy.
Mai's Pov:
It's been a week since Naru left. I stopped crying. I ran out of tears. Now I just walk around. Like a ghost. Bou-san offered to take me to therapy to help me with my depression, but I said no. John has tried taking me to fun places like the zoo, the park, anywhere fun, but nothing has worked. I was sitting on the couch of the SPR with the rest of the team. Except for Naru. I'm tired of thinking about him. I got off the couch, and walked out into the rain, ignoring the others pleas to stay or to take a jacket.
Naru's Pov:
I bolted into a sitting position. Sweat poured down my face. I got dressed and pack a weeks-worth of clothes in five minutes. I called a taxi, rode to the airport, and got on the next flight for Japan. That was two days ago. The only thing on my mind the entire plane ride is what I saw in my dream.
I was in a dark room. Then there was a flash of light, and Gene appeared. He looked at me with a stern face, as if I made the biggest mistake of my life. I whispered his name. In the blink of an eye, we were on a road in Japan. It was rarely used, surrounded by trees. It was raining hard. Then I see Mai, walking in the rain with no jacket. She had her head down, like she was ashamed, and sad. She goes to cross the road, and a speeding car comes straight towards her. She stops in the middle of the road and never looked whispers in my ear. "Don't let her end up like me." I woke up as the car hit Mai's body.
We landed at the airport in Japan. After I left the airport, I rode a taxi to the SPR headquarters. I barged in through the door, and everyone stared at me.
"Where is Mai?" I asked. John-san answered me. "She just left. Why are you-." I ran out the door, and ran down the same road in my dream. Up ahead I saw Mai.
I yelled her name and she never looked up.
Mai's Pov:
I could have sworn I heard Naru call my name. But I put the thought behind me. He is back in England, besides, the voice I heard was too urgent to be Naru's. I ignored it. Then I walked into the street. From the corner of my eye, I could just barely see headlights coming toward me. Fast. I stopped. He was my reason for living. Now that reason is gone. I stayed where I was, never looking up. I heard someone scream my name, and I felt an impact, but not the one I was expecting. The car sped past me. I felt the wet grass, and the body next to me, holding me in it's arms. I heard a gasp of relief. I looked to see Naru. His eyes pierced through mine. I was waiting for the hallucination to disappear. It didn't. he was real. I then waited for him to scold me, tell me to pay attention to where I was going. He opened his mouth. I closed my eyes, not able to look at him, expecting the longest lecture ever, what I didn't expect is when he tightened his grip on me and brought his lips down to mine.
