"Tony. Stop it."

"Stop what?"

" That."

" 'That'?"

"That. The staring into space thing."
Tony looked behind him at the whispering strawberry blonde.

"I'm sorry Pepper. Didn't know you had to worry about technically, we're in a classroom; there's no way I can see space from here."
"Wow, Tony no need to be pushy."

The black-haired boy looked at Pepper before sighing. "Sorry, I worded that wrong. I should've said 'Why do you care'?"

"Because, despite popular belief, its okay to worry about people even if they're your ex."

Ouch.

"Seriously Pep. What do you want?"

Pepper thought a little before sighing and leaning back into her desk. She poked him with her pen.
"You're paying less attention in class then usual."
"And? This class is boring, can't go any slower. I have better things to do next period."
"Tony."
Before he could answer, the bell rang.
"Well," Tony said, eyes lit like stars, collecting his binder full of empty notes and old equations, "This was a nice conversation, but I've gotta go."
"Tony-"
"Chemistry's now, and its lab day. My Science Bro's probably already waiting on me. Time to blow up stuff now y'know. Seeya at lunch Pep."
Tony bolted out of the room following the crowd of other students, leaving Pepper still at her desk.
"...Science Bro? Really?"

"Tony, that's not how we're supposed to mix then," Bruce looked on warily as Tony slowly kept mixing different chemicals together.

"I know, Bruce, don't worry," Tony replied opening a small dial with clear liquid and pouring it into the testtube.
"This is the funner way."

"More like destructive," the curly haired boy replied, switching back his attention to the teacher at the whiteboard.
"You just say that cause you're jealous."

Bruce snorted. "Jealous? Of what?"

Tony poured another chemical in the tube before starting up the bunsen burner.
"The fact that I can have fun with chemicals alone, without teacher's permission and blow shit up while you have to sit and wait."
"I'm not waiting, I'm just making sure I don't wake up tomorrow in a hospital."
"Really Banner? That's lame." Tony slowly stirred the chemicals in the test-tube, "You need to learn to live a litt-"
The sentence was cut short by a high pitched whistle and the shattering of a glass. The bunsen burner lit up and a bright flash of flame lit up the table they were on. Bruce and Tony both jumped back as the fire alarm and sprinklers went off and everyone started screaming and running.

"Shit, Bruce you alright?" Tony yelled, looking around the class as all the students ran towards the door.
"Yeah, I'm fine!" Bruce yelled back stepping over broken shards of glass to run to him.

They both ran to the door where the teacher was pushing students out the door. Other teachers were in the hall and directing them out the doors.

Bruce and Tony were the last two out the door and outside.

There they were greeted by groups of students and teachers, some angry, some scared, and a few still confused.
In the middle of the whole group were two adults in suits, one black one white, talking to the chemistry teacher.

Bruce sighed, the smallest of smiles still on his face, "And how many times does this make?"
Tony laughed "Not enough, Brucey."

"How many days of detention?"

"... I'm guessing three months, maybe four. You?"
"Five definitely. Or alternative school. Whichever's more convenient."

"Yeah, you're probably right. We should run."
