Okay, so I forgot to post a disclaimer. I do not own Harry Potter or My Little Girl. Believe it or not, I don't have children of my own. I just felt like, I wish my dad was alive, and would be here to do something like this for my wedding. I actually cry every time I hear this song. This song and Alan Jackson's Sissy's Song. As a girl who lost both her parents as a young teen, I have this to say:
Every time you fight with your parents, tell them that you love them even though you're mad.
Take each day as a blessing to have them in your life.
Never say you hate them, because you will regret it if you never get to take it back.
Remember that your parents only want the best for you.
Tell your parents right now, if they are awake, that you love them.
Everyone needs their parents, no matter how old you are.
If you're adopted, so what? They are your parents too. They love you no matter what.
Onto the story guys!
Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Harry Potter smiled lightly as he watched his daughter, Lily. She had just gotten married that day. She was radiant. Shining with happiness as she danced with Frank Longbottom. Now their families were truly related. Harry finally asked the band to cease playing as he grabbed the mike and a guitar.
"Lily, this song took me a year to learn. When I heard it over the muggle radio, I couldn't help but think of you." Lily blushed brightly as her father started to play.
[Verse 1:]
"Gotta hold on easy as I let you go.
Gonna tell you how much I love you, though you think you already know.
I remember I thought you looked like an angel wrapped in pink so soft and warm.
You've had me wrapped around your finger since the day you were born."
Harry's mind went to the day Lily had been born. A full head of red hair, and quiet. She had been so small, smaller than his boys. He knew he was going to spoil her even before she was born, but he also knew he only did what he thought was the best for her.
[Chorus:]
"You're beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl."
Lily had always been one to do what she believed in, just like her mother. She never gave up easily, but when the world got too much for her, she always would come home and ask her parents for help.
[Verse 2:]
"When you were in trouble that crooked little smile could melt my heart of stone.
Now look at you, I've turned around and you've almost grown.
Sometimes you're asleep I whisper "I Love You!" in the moonlight at your door.
As I walk away, I hear you say, "Daddy Love You More!"."
Harry noticed Lily had tears in her eyes, but she was smiling. Harry couldn't help but wonder, where the time went.
[Chorus:]
"You're beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl."
It was true, no matter what, she would be his little girl.
[Verse 3:]
"Someday, some boy will come and ask me for your hand.
But I won't say "yes" to him unless I know, he's the half
that makes you whole, he has a poet's soul, and the heart of a man's man.
I know he'll say that he's in love.
But between you and me. He won't be good enough!"
Harry looked Frank right in the eye as he sang. The man nodded in understanding. Knowing that, should he ever hurt Lily, he would have Hell to pay.
[Chorus:]
"You're beautiful baby from the outside in.
Chase your dreams but always know the road that'll lead you home again.
Go on, take on this whole world.
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl."
Harry set the guitar down, and moved to catch Lily as she flung herself at him in tears. He held her close as he told her how proud he was of her. That he would always be there for her.
"I love you, Lils."
"Daddy, I love you more." She smiled, and Harry handed her back to her husband as his wife pulled him into a dance.
"She's so happy." He said, watching as his daughter laughed. "She reminds me so much of you."
"I think that she has more of Lily than me, Harry. She has more of you." Harry smiled. "No matter what, she's your little girl. She's your baby. You'll have that until the end of the world."
