A picture of them was on her mantel. They were all so happy, huddled in a group, oblivious of what would happen. But pictures lie... ... They were not happy anymore ... ... They were broken ... ... Past repair ... And even when they tried to piece is back together, the cracks still remained...

Charlie sat in class, trying to make a rhythm using only his pencil and a hardcover copy of 'To Kill a Mockingbird.'
A note landed on his desk, folded in the shape of a heart: Mo.
He tried to put on a smile but his thoughts drifted toward Stella.
No, Mo. In rational terms, she was the perfect girlfriend. Kind, caring, beautiful... But Stella, her out-there attitude and humor were just enough to win him over.
Unfolding the note, he read the message: Wanna meet up dantes aftr schl? 3
He couldn't. He had a doctors appointment.
For the past few weeks, he been feeling bone-deep fatigue, even though he had been going to sleep at a reasonable hour, and fevers.
The first doctor he went to just gave him antibiotics but even after taking them for weeks...
He hadn't healed. Of course, his mother now insisted they go to a doctor: She couldn't have her little star being sick.
And frankly, he was glad he didn't have to go out with Mo. She was too... Clingy.
The sound of the bells stopped his thought. He could have listed a lot more reasons why he didn't like Mo.
"Hey Delgado, what's wrong?" Stella asked walking in perfect time with him.
"Nothing," he said wincing. The stomach pains. "Just going to the doctor after school."
"Well, that just sounds dandy." True. It was a known fact that Stella hated the doctor.
"Oh, and don't forget, practice on Saturday, kay?" She waited for his reassuring nod before running to her locker leaving him alone with his aching stomach.
Every man's dream.

After hours of grueling tests, Charlie sat, exhausted on a hospital bed.
Being prodded by needles made him yearn for his bed, and the sheer cleanliness of the room depleted the rest of his energy.
Suddenly his mother came in, obviously her face trying not to cry.
"Ah, yes, Mr. Delgado, I'm afraid to tell you that you have acute lymphoblastic leukemia."
Recognition failed to show across his face.
"Honey, y-you have cancer."

First of all, I know it's short
Secondly,
Oh! Isn't it just Shocking! Sorry, I just thought that most stories don't focus on Charlie and I wanted him to have the problem, not Stella… Don't worry I totally ship Starlie and you'll see that in chapter three but for now… I guess you'll just have to wait…
BTW this is the French Pedo face - (}: )}:
