Ellie arrived back at earth after the Tau Volantis incident she was filled with bitter happiness. Though she had discovered that for the most part the world had been split into the Unitologists and what remnants of EarthGov and what few civilians remained. While the Unitologists had the upper hand in number, the EarthGov survivors had in technology and had bunkered down heavily. After getting in contact with the survivors, she informed them of the mission success. Yet it nagged her that she had missed something... Something important. Suddenly it occurred to her, the Black Marker. She had found logs in the S.C.A.F. database about it's discovery and experimentation. At which points the data had been corrupted and the location of the Black Marker lost, but not before the S.C.A.F. was able to make their own markers. These Red Markers while inferior to the Black one still performed much the same way. Giving off such abundant energy, after further tests showed that they did not generate energy but rather received it Tau Volantis was discovered. Ellie knew what happened there she had barely lived through it. But this lead her to ask what about the Black Marker? Ellie had to find out, she couldn't rest until she did.
Ellie's search continued for the likely place that the Black Marker was. The only sure thing was that the Unitologist had recovered it after Jacob Arthur Danik had lead his most trusted to Tau Volantis. The Circle had found the Black Marker by using the data from the S.C.A.F. databases on Tau Volantis, and their own database. The Circle found it at a sealed S.C.A.F. facility buried deep in the Nevada Desert. Believing that the Black Marker was superior to the Red Markers, and all that was needed to "fix" the failed immortality of the Necromorphs was to use the Black Marker in conjunction with the information gained from Tau Volantis and the alien machine. The Circle started work on a twisted and corrupted version of the machine, that would "perfect" the immortality they were searching for. But in truth it would only speed the process for conversion. Bringing about the extinction of man, and the birth of another Brethren Moon. Ellie and her band of survivors had to raid the Unitologists to discover the location of the Black Marker and what it was capable of, so that the Necromorphs wouldn't start all over after it had just finished. Little did the earth know that in a weeks time it would receive two new moons.
AN:This is just a prolog that I've worked out for what I think Dead Space 4 would be like, if it were ever to get made. I think I'll start from Ellie's perspective and lead up to the arrival of the Brethren Moons. After which point I'll probably switch to Isaac and Carver's prospective and their arrival on earth. It will switch back and forth until the two groups meetup. I have a vague idea how this will go, mostly I have the start and finale in mind. The inbetween bit is what I'm struggling with at the moment. If you have any suggestions please send them my way, I may end up using it. If I do I will acknowledge it in the forward of the next chapter. As a side note this story idea started as the prolog of a mass effect crossover idea. I needed a way to fill in the gap between Dead Space 3 and the discovery of relay 314. I may end up writing that after or during this, we'll see.
