He knew they were being followed. He could just feel it. The way the leaves rustled noisily during the night. Small things like that. But he knew the group was in any sort of real danger. Something about the mysterious present sent a certain calm through Aragorn. He didn't know, but he felt as though he knew who this mysterious present was that continued to follow the group on their journey to destroy the One Ring.
Legolas and Boromir continued to glance at Aragorn curiously as he contined to look around as if waiting for someone to appear. The hobbits paid no attention as they continued on through the grassy field chatting away. Gimli who was walking in front of the hobbits paid no attention to Aragorn, but listened to the chatting between the hobbits.
"Stop," Aragorn said loudly. "We shall rest here for the day."
Immedietly Pippin threw his pack on the ground and laid against it comfortably. Boromir walked over to Gimli and the hobbits leaveing Legolas and Aragorn alone.
"Aragorn, I sense something." Legolas whispered, knowing that if he spoke any louder someone unknown to the fellowship would hear.
The Ranger nodded his head. "I know. Someone has been following us. Sarumon has many spies, but I don't think that this one is his."
"I'm going to go and look for the one who has been following us. I'm getting a bit restless." Legolas walked into the tall grass and was concealed immedietly. Reluctantly Aragorn followed.
Frodo who had been sitting beside Pippin sighed. "Where are they off to?"
"I don't know, but I hope they us something sweet to eat." he answered
Sam glanced at the apple that Pippin held. "What's that I see?"
"This isn't sweet. This is merely something to keep my stomach from growing more and more empty." he said.
Merry rolled his eyes. "Well get something to get your head not so empty."
And they continued on like that for several more minutes.
Legolas held his bow and arrow close as he walked through the tall grass. He could sens ethat he was drawing closer and closer to the presence that was following them. Then to his surprise he heard a horse. As quickly as he could he ran towards the sound it came from. He was sure that the presence had heard him as he continued on like that. Finally he came to a hault right in front of the one who had been following them and pointed his bow and arrow straight at her.
