Memorial
Daniel crouched down in front of a large stone slab on P6X- 801. He had the honor of being given a tour of the ruins surrounding the capital city by the head of archeology of the capital's most esteemed universities.
"And this is?" said Daniel.
"Some believe it to be memorial to a great forgotten war of the heavens. The legend goes that two great races fought a war though time and space. It ended with both sides being wiped out and the rest of the universe unaware. It is said this was left behind by a race that witnessed the war, before they left this plane." The old professor informed him.
"Why is it just a picture of a man?" commented Daniel out loud.
"It is said that there was but one survivor. The traveler, the lonely god. I've often wondered if it was true."
"There's something scratched down here at the base." Said Daniel running his had along below the picture. They were hexagonal with a design set with in them. Four glyphs apparently. Four letters or four words?
"I looks like nothing I've ever seen before." Said the Professor
"Yeah" muttered Daniel. He pulled out a piece of tracing paper. "Mind if I?"
"Of course not." He replied.
Daniel placed the paper up against the stone; running the charcoal over carefully to pick up the sunken lines. Then he stood up and pocketed the materials. They shoot in silence for a moment gazing down at the memorial. Then like the man the stone depicted turned and walked away. As he walked Dr Jackson couldn't help but wonder who the traveler, the lonely god was.
