Summary: A reflection from a member of Yankumi's household.

I first met him when he came to return Ojou's phone. He was nervous of course, but then so are most people when they initally come to a Yakuza household. We hadn't intended to lie, but it is hard not to want to protect Ojou from others. Even though, without a doubt, she can protect herself.

As time went on he returned to our house. I think the next time he returned was when Ojou realised he was living on his own – his father and he beyond reconciliation she told us. His story was similar to the one I kept hidden inside me, and so I had no protest against his return. And even if I had, our boss had accepted and trusted him and who am I to say otherwise to that.

But I couldn't help it as my feelings of resentment began to arise against this young man. By his very position as her student he was infinitely precious to her. The disturbances that he and his classmates found themselves in often pulled Ojou away from us, her family. As she tried to guide and teach them she turned away from the princess I had often imagined she would grow to be. My princess whose words would be my command wanted only to be a teacher. Their teacher. His teacher.

I did not pay heed to any development in his feelings for her, perhaps I was too wrapped up in my own and wondering how to tell her. How to show her.

There was one good thing, I suppose, in Ojou's interest in that cop. In noticing neither myself or him we were equal. For all that he was her precious student, and I her loyal henchman, in this matter we could not, would not, mean anything to her.
