Volvagia woke up breathing heavily. She got up and walked to her window in her nightgown. She breathed in the air of the night and sighed, something was wrong; something evil was in the distant lands and coming to Hyrule. Peace between the Volvagians and the lands of Hyrule had lasted for years since she had become Queen.

"My Queen, is everything alright?" came a small voice from the door.

Queen Volvagia walked over to the door and stepped out into the light, "Brica, I can smell evil closing into our lands. Prepare my armor, I'm leaving to go find out what is going on!"

Brica frowned and the fire element on the back of her hair swirled faster and faster, "But your highness you just gave birth to a beautiful little Princess."

Volvagia sighed, "It is the reason I must go, to protect my people, and my baby. Tell my father he must take up the throne in my absence. And I'm leaving you to raise my daughter while I am gone. Oh, and don't forget to lay flowers on my mother's grave."

Just as the sun was beginning to rise, Queen Volvagia stepped out of her cave suited in armor. She saw the dark clouds on the horizon and ran with the sun straight to them. She was alone as she disappeared into those clouds of darkness and could only think of her baby as her armor was stripped away from her body. Still she continued fighting the evil until even the flesh was torn from her bones.

Volvagia was dead. She had been dead for a long time. Kamara, the daughter of Volvagia and her grandfather, King Vincent, were going to visit the King of Hyrule this day. It was a beautiful day and the young Princess was excited about going to Hyrule, she had never been outside of the Volvagian lands before.

"Beautiful day, isn't it Princess?" Brica sighed, "Not a cloud in the sky."

Kamara smiled, "It certainly is a most beautiful day." No one noticed the dark in the sky. Even though it was distant, it was there and it seemed to be darker then ever before. This day was the anniversary of the day Queen Volvagia had disappeared into that deadly fog.

Another turn of the back to that wicked cloud would be the downfall of this day. As the King, Princess, a few guards, and the maid approached Hyrule the darkness started to come closer. Everyone felt uneasy and the guards couldn't relax their minds. Several advised they turn around and go home but they were so far along the way that it would probably be safer just to continue. As they approached the gates they saw a tall figure hidden in a cloak of black blocking the bridge. The guards prepared themselves but the stranger proved to be a much greater force than they had expected. With his fingers he killed many of the guards then fought with King Vincent.

"Protect my daughter and go back to our lands now! Leave me, I am too old, I should've been dead long ago," Vincent yelled.

The guards took Kamara and fled. Just as she turned her head one last time, the dark figure had decapitated the great fire King Vincent of the Volvagians. She screamed then never turned back as they ran. That run seemed to last forever, and the time following lasted even longer, King Vincent had fallen.

(Authors note) Ah the first chapter of my first fanfic on here! Isn't it beautiful? Anyway I created the race "Volvagians" in 8th grade when that good old Zelda obsession was setting in. I know no one in here is a character of the story, yet. I assure you Link and Zelda will BOTH make appearances here. So...with that said...review?
