A/N: A short poem in the eyes of Parson's daughter, as she contemplates the fate of her father.
The Mind of a Child
My eyes gazed into the keyhole,
Watching the portly man mumble in his restless sleep.
How I desire for him to open his vile mouth!
To declare those traitorous words against the Party
And to announce himself as a thought-criminal
Would be the catalyst for my future career.
Traitor! Enemy! Spy!
Open your despicable mouth and confess your dreadful sins.
Let your black irises shine in glorious terror
As you wait for your impending doom.
"Down with Big Brother!"
There! He said it!
"Down with Big Brother!"
Vile satisfaction bubbled within me-
My putrid lips formed a snide smirk-
My eyes widened in horrific euphoria.
I must report this to the Patrols in the morning,
For no one shall disgrace Big Brother
And no one will ever will.
"Down with Big Brother!"
Big Brother is the way.
"Down with Big Brother!"
The Party is always right.
"Down with Big Brother!"
I love Big Brother.
