Jell-O
Daniel sat across from Vala; he didn't have a choice since the bracelets were still linking them together. Rather the bracelets were off but they still had to be within 100 meters of each other. They were in the mess hall. In front of them were two bowls of Jell-O. Daniel was already half done his.
"You're sure that this is safe to eat? I really don't think that food should be this texture." Vala was stabbing the Jell-O with her knife, looking perplexed and doubtful. Is it supposed to be like this?
"Really, Vala it isn't as bad as it looks, and besides when you go back to your…travels you can tell people about this very strange food that the "weird people from earth" made you eat." Daniel pointed out
Vala looked at Daniel and tried not to betray her feelings. She rather liked this planet. She was hoping that they would let her stay. She didn't want to run for the rest of her life, she didn't want to steal either. She wanted a place to belong.
"All right, but only because you asked so nicely." Vala said as she smiled at Daniel. She then took the spoon that was beside the bowl and cautiously scooped some Jell-O on to it. Vala stared at her spoon for a wile as Daniel watched her, and waited.
The expectant look on Daniels face was getting to Vala and she very much wanted to make him happy. Vala squeezed her eyes shut and put the spoon in her mouth, the experience was bazaar. The Jell-O slid of the spoon into her mouth where she attempted to chew it but found that it did not work very well.
With her mouth half full, Vala said, "Daniel, iss is weir."
"I never said that it wasn't weird." The expression on Vala's face made him laugh. It was a combination of hurt anger and disgust. "Just swallow it." So Vala did as she was told. Surprisingly she found that she rather liked the squishing of the Jell-O as she swallowed it.
"Are there other kinds of Jell-O? Because this kind doesn't taste that good."
