Naruto stared at the demon….. No, the beast is the correct word, before him. The Kitsune no Youko, aka Kurama, had been with him since from the time of his birth. His parents may have been gone forever, but Kurama has been there to cheer him up, even sometimes taking over his body at the most inappropriate times to save his life.
In short, the kitsune himself was a parental figure to Naruto already. He smiled forlornly at the sewer that once spaced in his mindscape, only to look more like a river right now.
Naruto didn't know what it meant to be a parental figure until Boruto (Which he would nickname him Bolt, for the incredulous speed that his child would have to grow with Minato's signature speed) and Himawari (She does smell wonderfully like sunflowers, then there is also Hinata who wanted to name her after Neji's favorite flower) were born.
It would take some time before both of his children would be full blown Jounins and he will be an old geezer who only reminisce on the old days.
"Oi, are you going to here the entire time?" Kurama grumbled as he stretched his limbs. The green scenery engulfed the entire mindscape, making more space for the lord.
Naruto smiled as he spoke. "Thanks, Kurama."
"For what kit?"
"For everything." The fox stared hard on his host.
"I made your life hard."
"I know."
"I tried to kill you."
"I know."
"I destroyed everything that you have."
"I know." Naruto gave Kurama an all knowing look. "And you gave me everything that I'm looking for."
"You're insane kit." Naruto laughed.
"This is coming from you who have been living since the days of the Rikudo Sennin."
"Shut up kit."
I think that was one of my shortest I've written...
