Race Cars

"Sloan what is mommy's rule when she is in the kitchen cooking hot stuff on the stove, when I am doing that where do you need to be?" She asked the little boy.

"Go away?" Sloan asked. Jackie smiled at him.

"When mommy is in the kitchen with hot stuff you need to go into the other room with daddy because I don't want you to get hurt because I love you very much." She told him.

"Mama play with me?" He asked.

"After dinner I would love to play with you but right now I have to finish our dinner so we can eat, ok?"

"Ok mama." He said before he toddled into the other room with Nick and the other kids.

Jackie had a very good high school friend that was burned severely as a toddler because she pulled down a pan of boiling hot water on herself and that always made Jackie super paranoid about her own kid's safety in the kitchen.

When dinner was done Sloan was super excited.

"Mama play with me now?" He asked.

"Yes, I would love too sweetheart, what would you like to play?"

"Race cars." He said happily as he grabbed Jackie's hand and led her into the living room.

He gave Jackie a car and kept one for himself.

They raced them around the living room, Sloan was thrilled and he was giggling like crazy.

Jackie was having almost as much fun as Sloan.

"You won the race." Jackie proclaimed.

"Do again?"

"Alright, line your car up." Jackie told him.

They raced their cars again.

"Me won!" Sloan declared before bursting into another round of uncontrollable giggles.

Jackie smiled to herself she loved the moments when she got to spend one on one time with the kids!
