A Sense of Peace.

He opened his eyes, looking at the jutted knuckles and thin fingers. Fingertips skim along his lips, soft touches until he takes the fingers into his mouth, closes his eyes and feels them twitch to life. A soft inhale in the quiet bathing them in darkness. He moves down, turns his head and mouths at the wrist, soft and simple before he scrapes his teeth against the pulse point.

"Raph.." the voice murmurs, turning, almost dragging his hand back, away from him.

A smile breaks the night and he continues mouthing his wrist, soft, nimble and soon he leaves a pressure until the skin breaks into a flush like the color of blood, tantalizingly addicting.

Was he happy in this silent moment? Kissing a cold wrist and a pulse that would never beat. He'd never have to know, because for once in the quiet, he was purely content with his choices.

"Sleep..?" The wrist was pulled from his hand and he turned around to see an unruly yet sleepy Simon. He smiled and moved closer, bringing Simon into his arms and kissing along the side of his forehead and down to his cheek where he moved to his lips.

Plump and deeply intoxicating. He loved that about Simon, something about closing his eyes and feeling at peace.

"Leaving bruises," Simon murmured against him. "It hurts."

Raphael kissed below his ear. "It won't last."

"You're a sap," Simon said, leaning down and kissing Raphael's neck and stopping at his jawline. "You wish for bruises."

Raphael smiled and rubbed his hands along Simon's hipbones that also jutted out like his knuckles, he loved to kiss them, to feel Simon squirm and gasp his name. Impatient is what Simon is, restless and yet in this situation, Simon waited and tested the boundaries between them. He made it last, tempting Raphael to pursue something more and when it happened, Raphael was too deeply ingrained to ever leave.

Simon pressed his lips against Raphael and smiled in the sweet kiss.

It wasn't immediate. Raphael's attraction to Simon, at the time it was simply a cold miscalculation that continued to get colder until Simon crawled from his grave. The look of pure horror on his face, terrified and essentially alone with his hunger and the girl who brought him back.

Raphael knew right away this one was going to be tricky and it continued on that path until one day things cooled down. He kissed him, slept with him, whispered his name and devoured him until he could feel nothing but Simon in his veins.

Simon sighed and rolled on his back. He brought his hands to Raphael's and laced them together.

Love. He was in love with Simon Lewis.

"Sleepy.." Simon murmured, wrapping one arm around his waist and leaning into the crook of his neck, soft warm breath against his skin.

Raphael smiled and ran his fingers through his hair as the soft air exhaled from Simon's mouth. It was a long time since he felt this way, a sense of peace in this diluted world they lived in.

He could live with Simon, forever and nothing else could compare beyond him.

Nothing.

He kissed Simon's forehead and closed his eyes, letting sleep wash over him.
