Disclaimer: NCIS belongs to someone else…I only own Layla.

I probably could have put this in my last story….but the idea came to me right after I posted it.

Spoiler: Bete Noire

Summary: Abby has conquered her autopsy phobia and decided to tell Kate and Layla about it.

Kate had a nice day off. It gave her more time with Layla and less time thinking about what happened in autopsy. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Kate had to go back to work and decided to bring Layla with her. They entered the bullpen and found Gibbs at his desk. To their surprise, he was actually wearing a sling. Tony got up from his desk and walk over to them. "I'd watch it, he's not happy today." He whispered to him.

"I think you're the one who better watch it, DiNozzo." Gibbs growled.

Tony nodded. "So, Runt, what are you doing here? Don't you have school?" he asked Layla.

Layla smiled. "Nope, Spring Break." She answered.

"Don't you have friends to hang out with?"

Layla nodded. "No." She was still having problems with the whole making friends thing. Layla doesn't have a filter, so she speaks her mind. Apparently, people at her school don't like that.

"Okay, then." He added, backing off and walked to his desk.

Kate put her purse on her desk as the phone on her desk started to ring. She walked around her desk to pick it up. "Hello." She paused. Layla turned to face Kate so she can eavesdrop. "Okay, Abby, coming." She hung up. "Come, Layla, lets go see what Abby wants."

Abby's Lab:

Kate and Layla stepped out of the elevator and heard Android Lust playing in Abby's lab. "I like." Layla commented as they entered the lab.

Abby turned off the music. "Kate! Guess what! Guess what! Guess what!" then she changed gears. "Hey, Layla, why are you here?"

Kate nodded. "What, Abby?" she asked.

"Oh yeah, I overcame my autopsy phobia!" she exclaimed. "At first, I didn't think I could do it, but then I saw the paramedics and I was so scared that someone other than Gerald was shot or that Gerald was worse off than expected so I…" Abby rambled, a mile a minute.

"Wait a second." Layla cut her off. "You had an autopsy phobia?"

Kate nodded. "You understood that?" Abby was talking slightly fighter than usual and Kate couldn't keep up.

Abby ignored her. "Yeah, I had a nightmare that I was lying dead in autopsy. I mean, I was cut open and everything!" she explained.

"So continue, Abs, how did you conquer you phobia?" Kate asked. "And slower this time."

Abby smiled. "I went down into autopsy, but at first I couldn't go in because it was still a crime scene, so I waited." She paused. "Slow enough, Kate?"

Kate smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "Perfect."

"I spent the night on an autopsy table, but not the one that Gerald was on." She informed them.

Layla clapped. "Yay, Abby!" she cheered.

Abby bowed, playfully. "Thank you, thank you."

Kate looked at her watch. "Well, I'm going to head upstairs before Gibbs kills me. Layla you can hang out here, if you want."

Layla nodded. "Okay, I'll be up later." She waved as Kate started walking out of the lab.

"Tell Gibbs he owes me a Caf Pow!" Abby yelled.
