Diamonds in the Snow

Their lives were always in chaos

They rarely had the time

To see beyond the dark

To see the moonlight shine

She was tough, he was weak

That was what they thought

Until the day he finally brought down

But even then, they were distraught

She really didn't feel much

When they walked in ashy gray

All she felt was despair

When they'd seen no remains

But joy took over

When he was revealed alive

Though in a coma

There was chance to make it right

Now all this is a memory

Not too short or long

Together, side by side

Where they feel like they belong

No more fighting

Only peace

When everything

Has just ceased

They remember years wasted

And then they take the while

To really get to know

Under glowing moonlight

The diamonds in the snow
