Viola stepped out of the Cantabile Inn, the crisp night air washing over her. She sighed peacefully. It was so beautiful out here, even though it was in a space between a swamp and a grove filled with poisonous spores. It was a good thing that they had found this place though, everyone had been so tired. At least Beat, Salsa and Polka weren't with them, they would have been so exhausted by their trek through the swamp.

Viola glanced around, searching for Jazz. She hadn't been able to find him in the inn. Speaking of which, she hadn't seen Allegretto either. They must both be out here. She walked down the path a little ways, finally spotting Jazz.

He stood by himself, looking up at the sky. Viola just watched him. She'd never felt the same way for anyone else as she did for Jazz. Even though they had just recently met, he shared her morals and values. He fought against Forte and the mineral powder, just as she longed to. She wondered what held her back from fighting. She hadn't fought anything but the few mineral powder crazed people that sometimes tried to attack her while she tended to her goats. But even the last time, she had had Frederic, Allegretto, Polka and Beat to help her.

She shook her head. Maybe she was scared. She always pretended not to be, but she often was afraid. Afraid of the future, of Forte. She did want to fight, she just didn't know if she had the courage to do what Jazz did.

She didn't want him to know that she was afraid. For some reason, she just wanted to impress him, to prove that she was strong enough for him. But she didn't think it would matter. She had seen the way he and Claves looked at each other. It didn't take much of a genius to figure out that they were together.

And even if they weren't together, he would probably pick Falsetto over her. That girl was strong and brave and smart, just like him.

Viola sighed. She supposed that she would always be third, always be the one behind. It had always been that way, always would be. The only one who cared about her more than anyone else was Arco who was, unfortunately, not human. She'd never really have a guy take interest in her; maybe it was because all she did was herd goats. She laughed quietly, but bitterly, to herself. What a useless thing to spend my life doing, when I could be fighting against Forte with Andantino.

She took a deep breath. No use standing here and moping about her bad luck. The least she could do was talk to him.

She forced a smile and took a few more steps toward him. "So, this is where the fearless leader of Andantino got off to."
