AN: I wrote this in commemoration of Lily and James. This is what I think SHOULD happen on Halloween - in the books noone ever mentions Lily and James. So I thought I'd do it. Set Sixth year - let's just pretend Harry and Ginny are already together.

Something wasn't right.

"Harry?" I whispered tentatively.

He didn't answer.

I'd run quickly up the stairs to him (in my favorite crimson stilettos– not an easy feat). He'd seemed quite uneasy during the October 31st celebrations.

He hadn't even twitched when the skeletal hand jumped out at him from the candy filled bowl I'd offered him mischievously.

I mean, even perceptive Hermione had jumped a meter when it'd burst out at her. She'd calmed down straight away when Ron had ran to her side of course. Oh Ron…he's pathetic really.

Anyway, I was on a mission. And that was to find out why Harry Potter was so…well I don't know what to call it, but something was wrong.

"Harry?" I said again, my long tomato red hair falling in his face.

Nothing. Oh well, extreme circumstances call for extreme measures…

"Harry Potter, if you don't answer me right now…!"

There. That should do it.

"Ginny?" he looked up slowly.

Wow. He really is upset. His startlingly emerald eyes had deep shadows and his jet black hair was even more messy than usual.

"Yes."

"Why're you here?" he asked.

Did I mention how dim he is sometimes? He must get it from Ron…

"Well, obviously, I'm here because you didn't react to my candy bowl!" I shouted the obvious into his face.

He looks quite shocked. Oops. Maybe I was a little too loud.

"I'm just tired" he answered.

Harry Potter, don't you try that on me!

"Right. You woke at noon!"

Does he think I'm that stupid?

"Okay, okay. I'm not tired." He admitted.

Duh. He's so easy to manipulate.

"So what's wrong then? It's Halloween, and it's time for candy! What else do you want?"

"Oh, I don't know, maybe a godfather? A parent? Oh no, it couldn't be, can't be considered by little miss I –have- a –huge- family" he burst out.

Oops. Oh, so…oh right, October 31st! The day his parents…

"Died! My parents died on this day, October 31st! Oh so wonderful Halloween, as you so cleverly pointed out!"

Ooh he is really steaming now. Better get in before everyone comes rushing up. Then again, they might not…we're all too used to Harry's anger issues.

"Sorry! I'm sorry, I didn't realize!" I rushed.

"Oh yes, it's so easy for you not to realize…" Harry trailed off.

I could he was losing steam though, he always does with me.

Silence. Why's he so quite? I glanced at him again…his face is stuck in a pillow…

Oh. He's crying. Oh no…

"Look, Harry, I'm sorry. I know this hard and all, but you can't waste your life moping. You have to be strong"

His voice came again, muffled by the pillow, "I'm not moping"

"Right. Well if you're not moping then, let's get out of this stuffy room and get some candy!"

No movement.

"Oh come on Harry, you said you're not moping"

"Fine"

"There, okay then, come on, let's go!"

I dragged him out of bed and down the stairs.

I felt his arms around me, pulling me back.

"Oh come on Ha-"

Suddenly my speech was cut off by his soft lips.

"Thank you, Ginny" he whispered against mine.

And then as abruptly as we connected, he pulled away and we walked, arm in arm, to continue the Halloween celebrations – with a normal Harry.

I got to say, I might be good at comforting him, but I don't want to have to deal with this every year…unless I get a kiss like that of course.

Hope you enjoyed, REVIEW
