A/N: Sequal drabble to 'Diary of the Cat'

--

Lusus Naturae

It was Latin this time, and he couldn't help but wonder just how smart the previous cats actually were.

Another phrase was printed in the curling corner of the old book, another definition he had no urge to memorize.

Lusus Naturae - a freak of nature, abnormal being markedly unusual or deformed

He should be reading the more important words the diary held, he knew, the stories of abuse written by the cats before him, but he couldn't keep his eyes from slipping to the small print, occasionally crammed into the empty spaces of the yellowing pages.

He closed his eyes, saying the words to himself.

Lusus Naturae

He was pathetic; feeling such pain over a term he couldn't even pronounce.

A/N: dedicated to flyingdaggers, because hearing, 'but then I realized who wrote this story and just clicked. No questons asked.' Is the nicest compliment I'll probably ever get for 'Vagary'.
