Brave

A/N: This was requested by loljmo on Twitter. Julia I am so so so so sorry for this fic. It's so bad lol. ILY AND I'M SORRY I LET YOU DOWN! Okay anyway….

"Come on Mulan! We mustn't waste any time!" Aurora called out to the woman behind her. "We have to hurry!" She stopped once she saw that Mulan had stopped walking and was now seated up against a rock, her breathing quickening.

"I'm coming." Mulan breathed out, sweat visible on her forehead. "I just need to…" Aurora cut her off.

"No. You need to rest." She smiled. "I get it. Where we're going, it can wait." Aurora's voice was filled with so much kindness that it made Mulan feel guilty, even though she could not control how her body felt. She wish she could though, as it would make everything so much easier for the both of them.

"I'm fine." Mulan grinned in an attempt to re-assure the princess. Aurora shook her head whilst laughing, her long hair whipping back and forth.

"You know," she searched her leather bag for anything that would help Mulan in their current situation, "I'm not as stupid as people make me out to be."

"I didn't mean for you to…"

"Everyone sees me as the helpless, innocent little princess who can't do anything without assistance." Aurora cut Mulan off once again, her voice containing a hint of mania. "That…" She breathed out, "that makes me upset, because I think, I believe, that I am so much more."

"You are." Mulan stated, no uncertainty in her tone.

"It's just getting harder to believe I am…you know?" Aurora pushed a strand of hair out of her face. "I mean, even Philip thinks…thought I was." She corrected herself quickly after remembering that Philip was gone.

"I don't think that." Mulan finally stood up, but Aurora pushed her back down.

"Oh? Then tell me, Mulan." Aurora crossed her thin arms over her chest. "What am I to you?" There was a moment of silence before Mulan finally spoke.

"You are brave." Mulan started, moving her arm so that it was placed in her lap. "Braver than almost anyone I've ever met."

"But you've met some of the finest warriors around," Aurora pointed out, "surely they must be braver than me. I am no warrior, after all."

"That's what makes you braver. You are not a warrior, you're not trained to fight or prepared to rescue someone. But when you see someone in danger, you jump at the opportunity to help them. You don't hesitate. You discard the fact that you have no armor or training or preparation, and just do it. And that…that is what makes you brave." Aurora blushed as she retrieved a cloth out of her bag and poured some water onto it.

"Is that all?" She teased, applying the cool cloth to Mulan's forehead. Mulan shook her head.

"You're also caring and selfless. You put others before yourself." She gestured to the cloth on her forehead. "That, which is proof. Instead of going where you want to go, you're here. Taking care of me." Aurora smiled.

"Now, do I really have a choice? You're sick, I must tend to you."

"You have a choice," Mulan explained, "and you chose the selfless one." She removed the cloth from her forehead and stood up. "Now, let me do the sacrificing."

Aurora bit her lip, grinning. "I am a real bother, though. Having to travel with me is sacrifice enough, don't you think?"

"No." Mulan disagreed, grabbing her sword. "Having to travel without you, well, that's a different story."

A/N: Oops. That was dreadful. I didn't know if you wanted romance of friendship so I just did this and it's really bad and if you want to me to write you a different one I will.

And to anyone else reading this…sorry.
