In the height of the circus success, Dell Toledo, the stupendous strong man, felt in order for the crowds to keep coming he would have to find more freaks.
As Bette and Dot continued to hang "Help Wanted" posters along the road, but there wasn't any inquiries from anyone with any sort of freakish feature in the area of Jupiter, Florida.
Then one night, Twisty the clown, was once again hanging outside Elsa's Cabinet of Curiosities. Infuriated, Dell started to stomp toward Twisty to break up the crowd Twisty was taking away from the Freak Show. Then it hit Dell. What if he was able to create more freaks like Twisty? More freaks that the crowd would be amazed by?
Dell approaches Twisty and offers him a proposal that Twisty would absolutely not refuse. One that would make all of Twisty's dreams come true. Become a part of the show to entertain children. All Twisty would have to do is bring living bodies back to be made into freaks.
It didn't take too long before tied-up individuals started to show up on Dell's doorstep. And each time, Dell's grins only got bigger as he explored more ideas on what freak should be next.
The first victim was a young man in a pair of swimming trunks and a set of goggles. Dell found a tall standing tank that he filled with water and he threw the boy in. The boy started to fight his way to the top, so he could breathe. Dell knew that would be a problem so pulled the boy out. As the boy lying on his stomach, gasping for air, Dell shoved a thin granite pipe in the boy's back. The pipe had a whistling sound, which let Dell know that the pipe was lodged near the boy's lungs and that the boy was able to breath from it. Dell attaches a hose to the pipe and then picks up the injured boy and tosses him back in the filled tank. The boy struggled at first but eventually gives up, knowing that he would be able to survive the tank.
"Fishboy." Dell says, "That's what I'll call him."
Fishboy's debut went with out a hitch. Twisty got to reveal him and the crowd went wild. The boy wasn't active since he was weak and starved, until Twisty's started to throw sardines in the tank, the boy tried to grab on as much with out any sudden movements.
The next morning, Dell opens his trailer door and sees a young girl tied up and passed out on his doorsteps. Dell wasn't sure what to do with this one. Then he noticed a giant goose parading around the front of his trailer. Dell stepped over the body and crept toward the goose. As soon as he was in diving distances, he leapt and completely covered the Goose.
Later that day, the girl started to wake up in a pitch-black room. Her head was in so much pain but not as bad as her back. Then, she reached back and felt something strange on her back. She then realized that she had a set of wings that was sowed on her back. She tried to scream but nothing came out. She got up and tried to run to realize that she was chained to the floor. A million chattering voices started to fill the room.
"And for the next act, the Fallen Angel!"
The curtain unfolds and a crowd of people watches the girl stand there in a white sheet. She tries very hard to get the bright light out of her face, then felt some tugging on her back and then notice Twisty controlling some sort of contraption on her back, making the goose's wings flex.
The crowd awed as the girl was paralyzed by everything that was going on.
"Isn't she beautiful?" Dell addresses the crowd. "Well, she isn't used to all this attention so we will let her be."
The curtain begins to close and the darkness comes back.
To be continued…
