Once Link had finished a quest for Hyrule, he had to still defeat Ganondorf! He was to have the battle in Arbiter's grounds, the desert where Ganondorf had been sent to the Twilight Realm. Link was very cautious in the desert, for it was especially dangerous at night.

"We meet again, Stink..." Ganondorf came out from a huge sand dune.

"So we do, Ganondork," Link said, sword drawn (They liked to call each other names).

The battle started! They slashed at each other, every now and then, having a sword-lock or two! (It was especially hard on sand)

Suddenly, the desert's sandy floor gave in, and a trap door opened, causing Link and Ganondorf to fall! They landed with a thump on a tile, but sandy, floor. The trap door above them closed, sealing them in! They soon discovered that the small room was airtight! They were too breathless to fight. They sat down, too weak to stand. It was too dark to fight, anyway.

"Look what you've done!" Ganondorf angrily shouts at Link.

"I suggest," Link calmly reminds him, "that you save what air you have."

A few minutes go by, and Ganondorf suddenly charges up a HUGE purple ball of energy! Is he gonna hit Link? Link's eyes grew wide, panicking, thinking that it's meant for him! "You have enough energy left for that?" He asked Ganondorf.

Ganondorf doesn't answer. He throws it at Link! Link shuts his eyes and protects his face. He prepared to be killed! But instead, Link opened his eyes and looked above him, where a light suddenly appeared. Instead of killing him, Ganondorf had lit a torch above Link! (It's an energy ball, not fire)

Link almost fainted at the surprise! But they are running out of air, even faster, and sweating. Link suddenly really faints. Ganondorf looks over at Link, who is on the ground, passed out. Seeing this, Ganondorf shoots an energy blast at the ceiling, breaking a hole in it! He grabbed Link, and jumped out into the fresh air! Breathing in the fresh air, Link gasps and wakes up. "Wh-why did you do that?" Link asks Ganondorf.

Ganondorf only scoffs and walked away.

Link is left to find his own way home and to his thoughts. Why did he rescue me? He thought. He had me right there...He could've destroyed me. He would've won...Why did he save me? The thought echoed in his head. Why-why…

Link suddenly stood up straight. A more serious thought occupied his mind...he wondered out loud, "Why didn't he do it sooner?!"
