When it came to be

He was standing in a tree branch close to the balcony of the mansion. He saw the lights flicker on. He knew she was there. Quickly he made his way to the balcony and into her bedroom without her noticing. He saw her burring her head in her pillow and cry herself to sleep. But sleep never came, for hours he heard her cry. She was crying for him, because he wasn't there. Suddenly he moved closer to her bed revealing him. He knelt by her bed and read the poem he had written for her.

Maybe I was scared

Behind my stoic mask

Everything I hide

My feelings, my pain, my despair,

Maybe I was scared

But when I heard your voice

My mask broke

When I understood

What you were saying

I finally wasn't scared

Because somebody cared

Because you cared

And I finally managed to say

¨I love you¨

¨I love you Relena¨ he said expecting her to hear.

¨Heero?¨ she asked in disbelief that he was actually there.

¨I love you¨ he repeated. Now he was sitting in her bed next to her.

¨I love you to Heero¨ she answered and waited in an awkward silence for him to speak or do something.

Suddenly she felt his strong arms wrapped around her shoulders and she wrapped her own around his neck and before they even realized they were engulfed in a passionate kiss.

¨Happy birthday Relena¨ he said as he pulled away brushing his lips against hers softly.

¨Thank you Heero¨ she answered and hugged him tightly.
