I Could Have Danced All Night
By Anne T. M.
The music faded as the couple left the dance floor. The woman's face was flushed and Chakotay was wiping the sweat from his forehead. He joined his friends at the small corner table. He had consented to dance with Megan only because she badgered him and it was her thirtieth birthday.
B'Elanna attacked him before he sat down. "I thought you said you couldn't dance!"
He sat on the bench and took a long drink of water. The sounds of the Latin music continued to fill the room. "I never said I couldn't dance. I said I didn't dance."
Tom laughed.
B'Elanna continued on. "You sure as hell fooled us. The way you gyrated your hips to the music was amazing. You are a very good dancer. Your movements were extremely sensual!"
Chakotay raised his eyebrows as he listened to his friend. Tom was getting a little annoyed at his wife's gushing comments. Kathryn just sat back and listened.
B'Elanna continued on with her uncensored thoughts . "It wasn't dancing. It was more like⦠FOREPLAY!"
As the sound of the Salsa rhythm reached their ears once again, the Captain stood up. "Care to dance, Commander?"
The end
