Simon sat at his desk. He was doing a math problem. When he finished the worksheet, the Teacher decided to let him sleep; he'd been at the recording studio for fifteen hours the night before. But what he was doing in mid-slumber was something he couldn't stop since he was a baby. He sucked his thumb while he slept. And people saw it. The started to laugh; Simon woke up to see the people pointing and laughing. He felt something in his mouth; his thumb! He took it out hurriedly, but People had already seen it. Even as the class stretched on, they continued to tease him. The bell rang, Simon, Alvin, and Theodore. Those bullies followed them, teasing Simon. For a week, he put up with it. Then one day, as Dave picked them and the Chipettes up, Simon entered the car in tears.
"Simon, what's wrong?" asked Dave. Simon explained the situation. Jeanette jumped out of her seat and hugged Simon.
"It's okay," she said soothingly. The next day, as school was starting, Dr. Rubin's voice came in the intercom,
"Simon Seville to the Office." He came.
"Simon," she said, "your father told me about the issue. You can't just let it happen; I'm not a mind reader. Now tell me whose doing it." The list took five minutes to clear.
"Okay, this matter will be dealt with quickly and without hesitation. And, Simon," Simon connected his blue eyes to her brown ones, "this incident will never leave this office." The issue was resolved, and Simon was at peace again.
