The Other Man

She peeked out at him from under her curtain of golden curls, and he was once again awed at how adorable she was. Even after twenty-five years of marriage she could still melt him with one look – especially when it was coupled with an impossibly cute blush that just dusted her nose with a tinge of that beautiful pink …. No. He had to focus. She had done something completely unforgivable. Never, in all their years of marriage had she ever dared to go this far. It was outrageous, and if she thought for one minute that a simple pout would get her out of it … even though it was so utterly pathetic that it just made him want to hold her tight and kiss away the tears that were just starting to form in the corners of those gorgeous eyes – NO! He had to remain firm. He was a man, blast it all! He wouldn't stand for this to be passed over! He had to make it clear to her that what she had done was beyond forgiveness, and that he will not be swayed on the matter!

"Amy. On our wedding day you promised me that you would be ever faithful, until death should do us part. How could you have ever thought that it would be acceptable to bring another male into our home behind my back! And for me to find you two – you two – canoodling on MY couch," He paused as she finally broke down into tears. His eyes softened as he took in her weeping form. She looked up at him pleadingly and said,

"But Laurie, he was all alone in the rain … I couldn't just leave him out there! Can't he stay, just for a little while?"

"Absolutely not, Amy. As soon as the rain stops the dog goes."

A/N: Hey all. I was feeling down and decided that some Little Women cuteness would make me feel better. Hope you liked. Feel free to flame. Toodles~
