Let me Fall.
A Tom Riddle piece.
Let me fall,
Let me climb,
There's a moment when fear and dream must collide
He dreams of green lights and demons. Of snakes and masks. Of pain and power.
The other boys don't particularly like him. They like sports and sunshine. They like laughter. He likes books and dark corners. He likes silence.
There is an iron gate surrounding the orphanage. At night he looks out his small window while the others sleep and dreams about walking through that gate. Dreams about tearing it down and reducing it to a twisted heap of metal.
In his dreams, the gate screams.
Some one I am is waiting for courage
The one I want, the one I will become will catch me
So let me fall, if I must fall
I won't heed your warnings, I won't hear them
He likes the forbidden.
He doesn't believe in good and evil.
He hates the muggle borns. Hates them and their parents. None of them come from orphanages, even though they're not really orphans. He hates the half-bloods too, with their excepting muggle parent. He hates the pure bloods, with their arrogance...
He hates himself.
And something deep inside is stirring.
Let me fall
If I fall
though the feelings may or may not rise
I will come so freely, holding on to no one
You can hold me only if you too will fall away from all these useless fears and chains
He likes snakes. He likes snakes and secrets. And now he has discovered them both. And when the snake whispers into his ear what he must do, he smiles.
There is a darkness inside him, he can feel it deep down. It's growing and piece by piece it's eating away his soul, slowly. It's ready and waiting. Waiting for him to let it consume him fully.
He is standing on the edge of a knife, waiting for it to tip, waiting for him to fall. Into darkness or into light.
He doesn't care.
And he asks himself, it there really any difference?
Someone I am is waiting for my courage
the one I want, the one I will become will catch me
So let me fall, If I must fall
I won't heed your warnings, I won't hear
Let me fall
If I fall
They tell him they are forbiddon. They tell him they are wrong. They warn him about them, they will consume. He recites them under his breath.
Crucio.
Pain. Pain. He is no stranger to pain. Others won't be either.
Imperio.
Control. Total control. How he wants it, desires it, craves it. Needs it. Will have it.
Avada Kedavra.
Death. Pure and simple. Death, beautiful and jealous lover. Demanding lover.
there's no reason to miss this once chance, this perfect moment....
They are trying, trying to pull him back. They talk to him, watch him, try to get him to open to them. Perhaps they know.
He hates them.
He wishes they would leave him alone.
He dreams again. For the first time in years. He dreams of old, he dreams of green light. He drams of demons. He dreams of snakes. He dreams of masks.
He dreams of power.
He wakes smiling.
just let me fall.
