That man had a problem about him for weeks. He would spit and curse whenever he came on the news and rip his picture out of the paper. For no reason at all, he seemed to hate the Riddler. Edward first noticed the guy in a coffee shop he visited the shop regularly, one of the girls that worked there was rather sweet on him, he went there just to make her blush... anyway, enough about her. He'd noticed the guy, Simon, his name badge said, when he heard the sound of ripping paper from the other side of the quiet shop. He had dismissed it the first time, it was not uncommon to rip out an article or puzzle, then leave the rest of the paper when you left. The second time he noticed that Simon did not take the torn papers with him, he just crumpled up the ripped articles and left them. When Edward picked up one of these, he was rather shocked to see his own face staring back at him. Luckily under the mask, bowler hat and turned up collar he was unrecognisable to the public as humble Edward Nygma.

One morning the news came on in the television in the shop, stating how the Riddler had escaped Arkham (yet again, clever him) and how he was "Armed and extremely dangerous" He was flattered, truly. But the guy Simon spat at the screen and began cursing the air blue with insults about the Riddler, how he hated the Riddler. Edward, sat at the back, without a speck of green on him or a riddle on his lips, watched silently.

Simon came out of the work the next day, and went up to the roof for a quick smoke, he liked it up here, from this high up the city looked almost beautiful, with all the street lights reflecting off the river. A nice place to be alone. Except he wasn't alone. He heard the ring of someone sparking up behind him. He turned to see who, but all he could see was the lit cigarette end in the darkened. He saw the ember glow as its owner took a drag, and then watched move down to hand level, the smoker ha taken the cigg from his mouth.

"I've heard you've got a bit of a problem with me" The Riddler said, stepping from the shadows, "Why, what did I ever do to you?

"Stay away from me, freak" Simon spat, taking a step back.

"Oh tut tut, don't you know freak is such and ugly word? You very nearly hurt my feelings." He replied sarcastic. Simon took another step back.

"My sister... she was in the bank when you robbed it, she'll never walk again after what your goons did you her"

The criminal grinned wickedly "What my men did to her? Your lucky she's sane after what my men did to her, she had such pretty screams"

"Your a monster, she lives in daily pain now just because you wanted some fun."

"I'm playing the worlds smallest violin for you, really."

Simon glared at his smug face "You sick, twisted, queer"

"Ooh! Now you have hurt my feelings, sick and twisted I can handle, but assaults on my sexuality? Bad move my friend."

Simon took another step back and stumbled, The Riddler caught him by the fount of his shirt, holding him over the edge of the roof with surprising strength for his thin frame.

"Riddle me this, you sweaty sack of potatoes, what weighs twelve stone, and when it falls does not get back up again" He asked, a cruel glint in his eye.

Simon shook his head, he hadn't a clue

"Not very bright, are you? Well, you can tell me when you hit the bottom, okay?"

The Riddler let him go and Simon fell over the edge, into the street below. He peered over the edge and, with a discussed look on his face, threw the lit cigarette after him.
