Disclaimer: *glares* Would I be here if I owned it? *Readers nod* Didn't think so…

It's been eight years since they said goodbye to Roswell. Since then Max and Liz got married, followed shortly by Maria and Michael. Although it was unplanned, Max and Liz had a daughter and Maria and Michael had a son. They all seemed happy. Kyle seemed to be loving life, even though it's a life on the run. They had to sacrifice a lot by leaving. Liz gave up college and a bright future. Maria gave up her dream of becoming a singer. Kyle gave up his dream of owning his own garage. Everyone, except Michael, had to leave their parents, never to see them again. Isabel had to leave Jesse, her one true love.

Isabel never thought she'd find someone so soon after Alex's death, but Jesse came along and changed all that. They got married no matter how many people objected. They had their ups and downs, like any other married couple. Jesse finding out that Isabel was an alien was a big part of their downs. It was something he needed to get used to. In the end, it didn't matter to him. He said that she was still Isabel. They always enjoyed each other's company. Michael told her before she got married that she was being selfish to drag him into this. She realized that he right which is why she had to let him go.

When the pain of losing him got to be too much to bare, she would walk through his dreams. She found out that he did end up taking that job in Boston, like she told him to. She found out that he made partner at that same law firm. She found out that he was living his dream. But she also found out that he missed her as much as she missed him. He spent his nights alone, dreaming of her. In his dreams she'd watch him from the sidelines. She'd watch how Jesse and dream Isabel would have dinner, make love, or go on an adventure. She wanted to come out and tell him that she was there, but she couldn't. He needed to live his life. She made sure to steer clear from Boston, so that he could.

For now, Isabel would just have to be happy with her brother being so happy with Liz and their daughter, Lauren. She wished them all the happiness in the world, even if she couldn't have hers. She'd continue to watch over Jesse in his dreams. Even though they weren't really together, it was as close as she will ever be. She loved him and hoped that someday, they would meet again.

Well, that was my first Roswell fic. I don't think it'll be my last, but I'm not making any promises. What do you think?
