'Regina, move over. You're hogging the blanket again!'

'I'm sorry Emma, but it's freezing and this basement is awful. We need to find a new place soon.'

Regina was right the basement was definitely worse than the last place they'd been squatting but they couldn't go back after nearly being caught that night.

Emma felt awful- Gina had come to her for help, she was on the run from her abusive mother, and Emma couldn't even give the poor girl a warm place to stay.

The blonde girl moved closer to Regina until they were hugging tightly on the torn sofa with just the one thin blanket wrapped around them.

'Emma?'

The blonde mumbled in answer and waited for her friend to reply.

'Thank you. For everything you've done, I don't know what I would do without you. I'm so glad we met.'

The blonde ,moved by the speech, kissed her girlfriend lightly on the cheek.

'I couldn't do without you either.'

Her word were breathy as she planted long trails of kisses down her neck and onto her chest. Whenever days got hard, the pure taste of Regina could always make her feel a little better, she meant what she said. She barely survived the few moths alone without the amazingly beautiful brunette lying next to her.

Somedays she wondered why the world had intended for her and Regina to meet, she always came to the conclusion that it was the other girl ,of just 16, who made her a better person. A happier person too.

Emma nudged the brunette on the shoulder and the decided to run upstairs for a while as they were certain that the house owners were out.

When they got up to the first floor, Emma turned on the lights dimly- she ran to fridge and grabbed a tin of whipped cream and several syrup like sauces.

To this Regina just smacked her lips together making Emma laugh until she was almost giddy. Regina grabbed a bottle of expensive wine and they chased each other to the master bedroom!

'Emma, I love you so much,'

The two girls were both covered in a sticky sweetness mixed with juices, hugging tightly to the sheets.

'shhhh, Gina... I think there's somebody downstairs, hurry we need to go.'

'THIS IS THE POLICE- WE KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE!'

Emma heard footsteps climbing the stairs, and the pair scooped up their clothes before scrambling to the window and down the drain.

The girls managed to reach the floor unharmed; it was silent in the night. Both loosely pulled on clothes before running down the alleyway.

The couple embraced behind a brick building.

It was Regina who broke the hug to speak.

'I never liked that place anyway!'
