Rodney and Jennifer have their first fight

Making Up Is (Sometimes) Hard To Do

Colonel John Sheppard walked into the rec room and scanned the crowd trying to decide where to sit for tonight's viewing of the newest Bruce Willis movie. He spied a couple of unhappy faces. Uh-oh! Trouble in paradise. Rodney and Jennifer were sitting as far from each other as possible and looking none too happy. Jennifer tried to get up but Amanda Cole pulled her back into her seat. Radek Zelenka was doing the same to Rodney.

Sheppard motioned to Radek and Amanda. The three of them conferred a few moments then, nodding in agreement, Radek and Amanda returned to their seats while Sheppard casually moved to the back of the room. He reached over, removed the blu-ray disc from the player and slipped it inside his shirt.

A few minutes later everyone filed out when they discovered that the movie they'd all come to see was somehow missing and the only other one that hadn't been shown repeatedly was The Chronicles of Narnia. As per their agreement with Sheppard, Amanda and Radek kept Jennifer and Rodney from leaving.

He pulled two chairs out and Rodney and Jennifer were made to sit back to back since they refused to look at each other.

"Okay, what's this all about?" Rodney crossed his arms and looked off into the distance as did Jennifer.

"You are two of the most obstinate people I know. Besides myself, that is."

Rodney scoffed, glanced over his shoulder and said, "No kidding!" That opened the flood gates. Jennifer started running down a list of grievances which Rodney tried and failed to refute. After a few minutes of rambling Sheppard decided that was enough.

"E-nough!" The silence that followed his exclamation was deafening. "Okay. That's better. At least now you're talking to each other."

Rodney and Jennifer clamped their lips together and crossed their arms. Sheppard turned away thinking furiously. He had to get them back together but how? He rubbed a hand through his hair making it stand up even more and suddenly inspiration struck. He turned back to the couple, leaned close and whispered in their ears. They turned to look at Sheppard then each other and big smiles spread over their faces.

Rodney said, "I'm sorry."

Jennifer said, "Me too." They took each other by the hand and ran from the room.

Radek and Amanda came over to Sheppard who was standing there with smugness and self-satisfaction oozing out of him.

"Amazing! How did you do that?" Radek wanted to know.

"Just by saying," he stuck up two fingers to emphasize his point, "two words."

"Which two?" Amanda asked.

"'Make-up sex'." They all laughed as they walked out of the room shutting off the lights as they went.
