"Sunny say hi to Darrin.' The three year old shakes her head violently and hides behind her mother's leg. He smiles and bends down reach a hand. She looks up at mom unsure what to do. 'Go ahead he won't bite." Sunny lets go of the leg and takes his hand shakes it slowly.

"Hi."

"Hi Sunny. I'm Darrin."

"Hi." He laughs softly at her innocence before standing back up.

"You look great Sue. I've missed you." Sue nods unsure what to say still overwhelmed by the fact he was here. It had been five years since she had seen him or even heard from him. Nothing dramatic happened, no falling out. Just life.

"Everything good?"

"Yeah great. And for you?"

"Wonderful. It's just me and Sunny and…"

"Wait what happened to Craig?" Sue is taken aback for a second that Darrin knew of Craig. They still had mutual friends and connections to each other even now.

"Daddy left." Sunny answers matter-of-factually picking up a brightly colored box off the bottom shelf.

"I said no junk food. And yeah Craig we….we didn't work out. But that's okay!" She says a bit too excitable. Darrin knew it was for Sunny's benefit.

"Sorry to hear that."

"Thanks. What about you? Kids? Wife?"

"Not yet," She finds herself taken aback when she has to stop herself from smiling.

"I find that surprising. You alwa….Sunny! I said no!" Sue takes a step away and grabs her daughter's arm pulling her away. In response she stomps her foot and starts to whine.

"You should listen to your mother." Darrin says gently yet firmly.

"You're pretty good with kids."

"Thanks. I should be I do work with them."

"Oh really?! What do you do?" Darrin chuckles.

"Believe it or not I teach dance. At a studio called Born To Be A Dancer. My ex she's a dancer and convinced me to try it and yeah I wasn't too bad!" Sue just stares at him her jaw nearly hitting the floor.

"That's…wow! Never in a million years would I have guessed that!"

"Actually I'm not that good but I am good at teaching it. And the kids are great."

"Maybe we should continue this conversation elsewhere?"

"You mean not in the middle of the grocery store?"

"Yeah." They both laugh.

"I don't even want to imagine what my ice-cream looks like it!"
