Iced Coffee

He was entranced, as she laughed at something her mother said. He had the perfect view from his place at the counter, just mere tables seperating them. He heard a bell signaling that their food was ready, he casually walked over, placing a plate with cheese burgers and fries in front of mother and daughter. Her bright ice blue eyes lit up when she saw it was him. She gave him the faintest of smiles, but just that was enough to make him melt. He was then whisked away by Luke, who was muttering something about lazy kids, and told to start refilling coffee's.

She was captivated as he walked around the diner refilling coffee, even giving a few smiles to the elderly ladies sitting in the corner booth, as they thanked him. He looked over stealing a glance at her. She had never felt so desired, as his eyes turned a shade darker, in want. His usually chocolate orbs, were now a deep coffee brown. She broke the intese gaze and turned to her mother who was oblivious, ranting about something at work. She turned her head, and he was gone. Confused she turned back to her burger and took a bite.

"Hey there" he whispered into her ear, making her jump. She turned around to glare at him, but was lost once more in his eyes. They blended together in the gaze, liked iced coffee.

"Jess! Don't do that!" she exclaimed. He smirked his all famous smirk and just gave her a peck on the cheek, as a peace offering. Gagging was heard and they broke their gaze to look at her mother who was pretend gagging in a dramatic fashion. They both turned to glare at her, seeing this she got up and went in search of Luke for more coffee. He picked up her hand and dragged her out the door, and they walked to short distance to their bridge, hand in hand. Once there they both sat down, Rory sitting between Jess' legs, leaning against him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and stomach in an uncharacteristic fashion.

They were both so different, her the town princess, with a thick wall around her. Like an ice wall surrounding her, keeping out all the people who tried to hurt her. And him, the town hoodlum, with such issues of abondonment, the person who just needed someone to warm him up like a cup of coffee on a cold winter day. They clashed, the ice cold meeting the warm coffee, creating an unforgetable bond. Like iced coffee.

"I love you" he whispered into her hair, which he was presently littering with soft kisses. She turned slightly in his arms and gave him a small peck on the cheek.

"I love you too" she whispered back. Just like iced coffee they fit together, completing each other.
