Summary: In this story I want to try and show how different Harry's life would be, if the Horcrux inside him gave him more then just Parseltongue. What if it was conscious enough to give the boy advice and tell him about the Wizarding World? What if somehow Harry's soul merged with the piece of Voldemort that got stuck in him? How would the boy change and how would the World react to a smart and darker Harry? Well, if you want to know, then stay with me and find out.
Rating: Will grow when I get to the events of the third book.
Pairing: surprise.
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER ! =)
Prologue.
Curse Gone Wrong.
[Godric's Hollow. Halloween 1981.]
Thomas Marvolo Riddle sighed as he stepped over the dead body of one James Harold Potter. He hated killing pure-bloods, after all they were not his enemy. But still he knew that since he had to kill off James' son, he couldn't afford to let the child's parents live, since they would most definitely come after him looking for revenge. Thus he killed James and now found himself in front of the nursery, where he knew his target was located. Dark Lord or not, Lord Voldemort didn't exactly feel right murdering an innocent child ... and all because of some Prophecy that he only knew a half of. Still if he had to choose between young Potter and himself, he would always save himself, no matter what. With that in mind the man blasted the door off its' hinges and walked into the room. The infant sat in his crib and stared at Tom with his big emerald green eyes and Voldemort felt another small twinge of guilt stab through him.
"I only want the child. Stand aside and you will live." - he spoke in an emotionless dead voice, knowing full well that the red haired witch in front of him would not let him kill her child to save herself. For that he respected Lily Potter ... and he killed her, just like he killed James.
"Well then, little Potter… time to die…" – murmured Voldemort, as he studied the child. Frankly speaking he did not feel the glee of victory that usually came with winning a battle, or gaining new allies and the slight guilt that rose in him, as he glanced at the dead Lily Potter, made him angry. The Dark Lord raised his wand and muttered the killing curse. What happened afterwards was most astounding. There was, of course, a flash of green light as the curse sped towards the toddler, but as it came in contact with baby Potter … it rebounded and hit a shocked Voldemort instead. Not only that, but when the curse rebounded, Riddle heard what seemed like a phoenix screeching and the curse itself became white in color. When the light diminished the only living person in the room was little Harry Potter and where once stood the strongest dark wizard of the century, was only a wand and a pile of ash.
[***]
This event became a blessing for the entire Wizarding World and young Harry James Potter was proclaimed the 'Boy-Who-Lived'. While the magical Britain was busy celebrating the defeat of Voldemort, their little hero was carted off to his muggle relatives - Petunia and Vernon Dursley, the two muggles who were least of all likely to be happy about a magical child thrust upon him.
[Author's Note: Well, that's the Prologue. I should have the first chapter ready by tomorrow, but none the less PLEASE REVIEW !]
