The Rain and the Storm
He stands on the windswept, tear stained land
As the tears of the Gods join his own in the sand
Lightning struck down from the bruised clouds above
On the day that he mourned for the loss of his love
Now the wind and the rain, and the ominent clouds may tear his flesh apart
But never would they be able to touch the pain of his love in his hearts
It hurt to remember, but even more to forget
All the fun that they'd had since the day they first met
An empty world filled with so much noise
Was enough to drown out the pain of past joys
Without her there should be no more laughter or joy
Just an eternal moment of silence for this lost little boy
But that's not how it works, the world doesn't end
Just because a man wishes when he loses his friend
They must always leave him, it's always the way
The time must come on some fateful day
So many goodbyes, too many to count
But it was she that held his respect in paramount
But now she was gone in the march of time
And the sun's light through the clouds as it began its climb
Seemed cruel and mocking, out of place
As if it had brightness of her smile to replace
The dark in his hearts and the cold in his soul
The strength to take place of that which was stole
He turned away from the sun that cracked the bruised clouds above
On the day that he mourned for the loss of his love
