AN ARMY OF ONE
Zim stared at the blinking screen for a second, trying to wake up a little. It was late at night, and the computer had woken him up with it's blinking. Zim had fallen asleep in the commutation room, sense it had been a long day, and he had been tired. And he still was tired. After a while, Computer sighed.
"Incoming transmission from the Tallests." It sighed again.
"Oh! Uhhh…." Zim yawned before hitting the button that would answer the call.
"FINALLY! It's about time you answered us, Zim! We've been trying to get through to you for FIVE HOURS!" Tallest Red was clearly annoyed.
"My apologizes, my Tallests. i…." Zim yawned again. "I fell asleep. My bad, entirely."
"Fell asleep? What Irken falls asleep on duty?" Purple asked. That's when a high pitched voice started laughing and Gir came out from hiding in a pile of piggys.
"You said duty! Master fell asleep in duty!" Gir laughed.
"Gir, GO AWAY!" Zim snapped. Gir was part of the reason Zim was so tired lately. The robot kept him awake for days on end, the Zim's PAK energy was running low, and was still low.
"Zim, we are exiling you. No more calling us, no more making any contact with living Irkens. according to the Empire, you are dead, and although we'll let you live, if you dare step foot on Irk, or anywhere off that planet, you will b hunted down, and killed. And we mean it." Red growled.
"But….but my Tallest! All I ever did was try to please you! WHY am I being exiled?" Zim was confused. Of all the things he thought would happen to him, this wasn't one of them.
"You're annoying! And we hate you! You never had a real mission, you never had a real SIR unit, you were NEVER AN INVADER! We lied to you so you would leave! We were hoping you would die somewhere out in space and we would never hear of you again!" Red snapped.
"But…..i….didn't…..no…." Zim was lost for words for once. All he could do was stare up saddly at the Tallests cold glares, hoping this was all some horrible dream.
"Good bye." Purple said before Red motioned for the transmission to be cut.
A thought formed in Zim's tired mind. Who said he needed the Tallests or the Empire to take over Earth? Who said he would need help? As if being told his mission was a fake made him smarter, Zim began thinking of a better disguise for him, Gir, and the house. New plans swarmed in his head, and his teeth flashed in the dark. Zim didn't need anyone. They were the ones who would need him one day, but he wouldn't help. He fought his own battles, won his own wars, and he made his own rules. Zim, was an Army of One
