Ron was a real jerk sometimes. The way he sniggered when she talked about the callous enslavement of our fellow magical beings. The way he constantly made fun of her for having a simple interest in reading, which really was only slightly above average. The horrid way Ron treats Crookshanks even though he only attacked in one minute of agression, which is normal behavior for a cat. He was a jerk for making fun of her for walking out on that miserable old bat Trelawny, and for laughing at the hats she worked very hard to knit. Do you know how hard knitting is? It's quite difficult, and those hats were very good for an advanced beginner! She used a stockinette stick and everything! He always acts as if she's just on of the guys, and then the hypocrite was on her case for going to the ball with Victor! And don't even get her started on that ditzy floozy Lavender Brown! Won-won! It just makes her want to be sick! He's been pigheaded and unfair during their fights in first year, and second year, and third year, and fourth year, and fifth year... Okay, she might have been a little stubborn. Ron has dreadful table manners, and he was so insensitive to Kreacher's plight! He's loud and annoying and rude!

But, Hermione thought as she snuggled deeper into his sweater, I love him. He's loyal and brave and funny.

She looks up at him.

"You are really heartless sometimes, you know?"

"I love you too, 'Mione."

Then she kisses him because it's not every day you come across a man who speaks Hermione.
