(Around 8:30 in the evening, the tranquil silence in Retroville Park is disturbed by soft crying. On a park bench is Cindy Vortex, who's shaking with sobs. She's received terrible news. Suddenly, she hears a voice)
Cindy
Cindy: (Sniff, sob) What?
(Looking up, she sees none other than James Isaac Neutron)
Jim: Are you ok?
Cindy: No.
(Jimmy sits down on the bench beside Cindy)
Jim: What's wrong?
Cindy: (Sniff) My---my---my dad.
Jim: Your dad?
Cindy: He has cancer... (Sigh, sob)
Jim: (Shocked) I-I-
Cindy: (Sniff, sigh, sob)
Jim: I-I'm so sorry, Cindy.
Cindy: (Looks down) It's not your fault.
(Jimmy looks down for a moment, then looks back up and puts his arm around Cindy)
Cindy: (Sob)
Darling, I can see the clouds around you, And in your heart, I know a sorrow grows. But if you weep, I'll be right here to hold you,
'Til each tear you cry becomes a rose.
Dearest love, I know your heart's been shattered,
And all my words can offer no relief. But my love will heal the pain you've suffered, And I'll be here, if you should turn to me.
In deepest night, when memories tend to gather, Stay with me, and put your fears to rest. 'Cause there's no pain, nor dream can put asunder All the love that binds us, you and me.
Darling, I can see the clouds around you, And in your heart, I know a sorrow grows. But if you weep, I'll be right here to hold you, 'Til each tear you cry becomes a rose.
'Til each tear you cry becomes a rose
(Cindy sighs and leans on Jimmy's shoulder. Jimmy says nothing; just holds Cindy close. After what seems like an eternity, Jimmy softly offers)
Jim: If you ever need me.
Cindy: Thank you... and.
Jim: And?
Cindy: I do...
