Chapter 1
Penelope stood in the hallway of her new school. 'Go wrights high' it said in banners hung up around the school. She hated schools with a bunch of school spirit. It wasn't even her fault, they moved this time. Her dad go a new job, in New Jersey. And here she is now. Staring at the huge lunch room, all by herself. Why? You may ask. Because her stupid dad didn't look up what time, school started. So she was three hours late on her first day of her Junior year. She sighed, and started to walk off to the right of the lunch room, a few minutes past and she found her room number. She smiled thankfully, and opened the heavy door to a class room full of teenagers. Her eyes glanced around the room, taking it all in before she walked up to the teacher, and give him the note.
"Ah, you must be the new girl Penelope King" He exclaimed, while talking to the rest of the class as well. He paused and looked over at her again. "Would you like to tell us anything about yourself"
"No." I said, quickly looking down at me feet, he gave me a nervous smile, and a nod and sent me back to my seat. The boy next to me looked up as I sat down, his eyes caught on mine, they were such an odd color. Almost purple. She shook her head and settled into her seat. She could feel his gaze on her the whole period. An hour later they were free. She made her way out the door and to her next period within the 5 minute passing time.
"Hey, I'm Grace." A short brunette said, from the first aisle. She looked friendly enough so she sat down next to her.
"I'm Penelope" She said smiling, over at her.
The girls eyes went large, "You're...eyes. They just c-changed colors" she said, Penelope sighed, not this again. For some reason her eyes changed from black to green in a matter of moments. She didn't know how to stop it or make it go away. So all she did was nod. Two more hours passed and she ran out of the school, her car was parked over by the portables, she got in her car and sped away from the school, she already didn't like it. Her dad was up, looking at the paper when she got home, she saw some left over coffee on the stove, and poured herself a glass of it. She told him about her new school, and that someone already noticed her eyes. She stared off into the distance before her dad broke the silence.
"Penelope, I have to tell you something" he said slowly.
"What dad?" she asked, dumping the rest of the coffee down the drain and washing out her dish.
"The reason your eyes are changing is because, You're an angel."
