A/N - So, this is just gonna be a short fic of 4 chapters, following House and Cameron through the year. It's gonna be fluffy, sweet and short with a dash of romance thrown in for good measure, as I'm such a softie at heart. This has been rattling around in my head for a while, and these short fics help me break through my writers block. Enjoy :)

Spring

Spring was her favourite season. It wasn't scorching hot and it wasn't freezing cold. It was comfortable. Spring brought blossom to the trees and flowers to the plants – winter was over and everything was coming alive again.

Cameron stood at the window, still toasty and warm from bed, a hot mug of coffee between her hands, and House's soft cotton shirt around her shoulders.

She looked out onto the street as morning began. The dew on the grass sparkled in the early morning light and the small daffodils in a neighbour's garden were just starting to show their yellow colour. A woman strolled past with her dog and the coffee shop across the street opened its shutters. Everything was hazy and beautiful – a perfect spring day. She wanted to go out and run. Running in spring made her feel more alive than ever.

In a way, she related the spring to her relationship with House. After the long years built with sexual tension and looks and touches; after their dark moments where they fought and argued and said horrible things; after the winter, comes the spring – and now was their spring. She was alive with him. He made her happy – just like seeing new daffodils or smelling the fresh air.

Cameron knew things wouldn't always be shiny and bright – there would be rainy spells and unstable weather. But just knowing how great it is when it's sunny, would give them hope to weather the storms. They would bloom together.

Just then, two warm arms wrapped around her waist and she smiled as House kissed her exposed shoulder.

"Come back to bed," he whispered as he placed gentle kisses on her neck.

Cameron leaned back in his arms for a moment, enjoying the feeling of his warm lips on her skin and letting his masculine smell surround her. Then she placed her coffee mug down and turned to wrap her arms around his neck, pressing herself against his bare torso. She smiled and kissed him softly.

She pulled back to look at him, her hands smoothing through his messy bed hair. His eyes were sleepy, but they were bluer than ever and when he gave her a soft smile, Cameron couldn't help but fall in love with him even more. She'd do anything he asked.

Then she smoothed her hand down his arm and linked her fingers with his. He smiled at her again as she tugged him back towards the bedroom.

He was her spring. And she loved spring.
