A/N: So I've had this idea for a long while now, I don't know how people will react to this type of crossover so eh. Here ya go.
Yukari stared at the outside world through her gap, after watching what happened after the incident at Black Mesa, the Earth had been taken over by an alien union from another universe.
The resulting short war almost killed the planet's population. This wasn't an acceptable fate for Gensokyo; after the surrender of the outside world to the Combine, Yukari increased the barrier's strength, hoping to keep the Youkai safe from the destructive force, this result caused time to pass slower in Gensokyo than in the outside world.
The result was 22 years passing by for humanity outside, and only 2 years for Gensokyo.
Yukari contemplated hibernating for the spring, but quickly deciding against it. She'd already lost enough sleep worrying what might happen if the barrier collapsed. But she ended up turning in and going to sleep for the night.
Reimu sat up with a long groan; her hair was a mess like her futon and blankets. She stood up, rubbing her back and adjusting her nightgown as she grabbed her clean clothes and marched to the bathroom to shower. The Miko had noticed Yukari's been distant for the past two years, isolated in her house, only appearing during a shrine festival. Even her Shikigami had been absent from the normal happenings of Gensokyo, then again, they only appeared with Yukari anyway so she didn't exactly have too many concerns about them.
Reimu undressed and turned on the shower, while waiting for the water to warm; she took the time to examine herself in the mirror. She saw a tired teenager at first, but upon closer inspection, she saw her reflection fading away, letting out a yelp of surprise, she quickly pulled a towel over her figure as she was suddenly in am empty, black void. The only thing that was in the void besides her was a man in a business suit, and he was coming closer.
Reimu looked around frantically for any kind of escape route and found none, she tried summoning her powers but they seemed to have been cancelled out by the void she was in, when she turned to face the figure, she found him staring directly at her.
"Rise and shine Ms. Hakurei. Rise and…. shine." The man's expression changed from emotionless to a cruel smirk, "Not that you haven't been doing a good job at what you've done so far." He continued, "But soon there's going to be a time where your land is going to be put to the ultimate test, and I genuinely hope it passes. But, for now, you may go about your daily lives, just pay heed to my words. And be prepared for them to come for you."
Before Reimu could utter a response or a threat, she was back in her bathroom the room steamed from the temperature of the water. She let out a sigh then stepped into the shower to begin her daily routine, "I wonder who that man was…and what did he mean about something coming for us…?" Reimu's thoughts lingered for the rest of the rather uneventful day.
Yukari jolted from her sleep, suddenly feeling a ripple in the barrier and her gaps. She knew once then, that the Combine had found Gensokyo.
