Notes: Mai-Hime is an anime, that was done by the studio Sunrise.

Natsuki Kuga and Shizuru Fujino, were going for a walk, while holding hands. Natsuki and Shizuru had been dating each other, for half a year, and they had been having the best six months, of their lives. Although Natsuki tried to be a serious, stern hero, it was hard to hold back her passionate and adorable feelings, for Shizuru. Natsuki was the most cheerful and pleasant thing in Shizuru's life and Shizuru was the same thing, for Natsuki.

Although the couple was extremely happy together, things were far from perfect. Although Shizuru had a normal job, Natsuki had a unique profession. When the forces of evil tried to put her city in harm, Natsuki swooped in and saved the day. Natsuki had strong fighting skills and a burning desire, to keep her city safe. Because of that, Natsuki often to leave her allies behind and cancel lots of events, in order to go on missions.

A lot of Natsuki's family members and friends weren't very patient or understanding, when Natsuki left them, to go save people and fight villains. Thankfully, Shizuru wasn't one of those people. She was very much aware, of how much Natsuki cared about doing the right thing. Because of that, she admired her girlfriend and her love kept growing higher and higher.

As Natsuki and Shizuru walked across the city, Shizuru did most of the talking, because Natsuki was shy. After several minutes, of Natsuki not saying anything, she finally started speaking. She said, "I'm sorry, for not being the Queen of Conversation. I'm probably a boring person, to go on dates with."

Shizuru shook her head and replied, "Not at all, my darling Natsuki. Our dates are eloquent gifts, which my heart treasures."

Natsuki blushed and asked, "Do you always have to be cute?"

Shizuru answered, "You know I do."

Natsuki looked around and saw a lot of commotion, which was coming from the bank. Natsuki knew the commotion was happening, because of Gonna Getcha, the city's most infamous bank robber. Natsuki felt bad, about having to leave Shizuru, during one of their dates. She looked at Shizuru and said, "I'm awfully sorry."

Shizuru replied, "You have no reason to feel bad, you cutie pie. Go and fight Gonna Getcha. Have fun." She paused and said, "I know, that having fun isn't a very common thing, when fighting bank robbers, but I hope you get the idea."

Natsuki responded, "I think I do, my love." Natsuki kissed her and started running into the bank.

Natsuki looked around and saw a bank teller, who was throwing party, with dancing, balloons, and music. Natsuki wasn't very accepting, of a bank teller having a goofy party, while his bank was being robbed. She folded her arms and asked, "Why are you celebrating?"

The bank teller explained, "I'm not a big fan of working, so I'm overjoyed, that Gonna Getcha is robbing the bank. Since he's robbing the bank, I don't have customers or work, to take care of." The bank teller danced across the bank, while Natsuki went into the bank vault.

Natsuki looked around and saw Gonna Getcha, who had tons of bags, which were filled with money. The villainous bank robber put his hands on his hips, while saying, "It seems like you've lost your touch, Natsuki Kuga. You usually stop me, before I have five bags of money. I've already accomplished, so my success is rising and your failure is becoming tremendous." He did an evil laugh and twirled his mustache.

Natsuki confidently replied, "You're never going to be the winner, you pathetic thief."

Gonna Getcha had an offended look on his face, while asking, "Pathetic? I'm the greatest bank robber, of all time."

Natsuki replied, "No you're not. Besides, villains don't win. It's time you face my justice, you scoundrel." Natsuki started punching and kicking Gonna Getcha. Gonna Getcha did a few punches, but it wasn't enough, to stop Natsuki.

As always, Gonna Getcha overestimated his abilities, as a villain. A few decades ago, he was one of the most successful criminals, in the world. However, he became repetitive and less intelligent, as the years had gone on. His plans and methods had become outdated and he had become so corny and overly-confident, that he kept losing. He was still an expert, at breaking out of prison. However, he kept getting defeated and captured, after he attempted any robberies. Most of his schemes involved banks, which made it easy, to find him.

After Natsuki had stopped Gonna Getcha, the villainous robber laid on the floor, while Natsuki put handcuffs on him. He had a confused look on his face, while asking, "How do you always beat me?"

Natsuki answered, "Because you don't know what you're doing. You focus your brain, on petty and immature robberies, instead of doing something useful and productive." Natsuki handed Gonna Getcha, to the police, and ran back to Shizuru.

Shizuru hugged Natsuki, while asking, "How was your adventure?"

Natsuki answered, "Gonna Getcha was doing his usual antics. His schemes are tiresome." She fiddled with Shizuru's hair, while saying, "Being with you, is the opposite of tiresome. I could on a date with you, everyday of my life, and each day would be an exciting experience, that I couldn't get enough of." Natsuki blushed, while thinking about what she said.

Shizuru blushed back and replied, "Aww, you're my honey bunny." Shizuru gave Natsuki another hug. Although she was embarrassed, she was enjoying herself.

The next morning, Gonna Getcha was in his prison cell, when the daily newspaper was placed into his cell. He started reading the paper, before finding an article, that was about the city getting a new set of train tracks. Gonna Getcha fiddled with his mustache, while having nostalgic flashbacks. The flashbacks were about the time, when villains would tie a woman to the tracks and a heroic man would save the girl and stop the bad guy. Gonna Getcha had an evil smile on his face, while saying, "It's time, that the old times come back." He did an evil laugh, while twirling with his mustache.

A few hours later, Natsuki came by the area, that the new train tracks were at, because Shizuru wanted to see them. Natsuki didn't really understand, why Shizuru was excited about train tracks. However, she was always eager, to spend more time with her girlfriend, so she patiently waited, for Shizuru to come.

A few minutes later, Natsuki's dad came by. In order to look old-fashioned, he wore a suit, from the 1930s. He plugged in a microphone and stereo. He looked at Natsuki and said, "I'm your father and I love you, but I'm disappointed in you. My favorite thing, in the entire world, is saving money, which you've been failing at." Natsuki facepalmed, while having a hard time believing, that her dad came by, so he could sign a song, about his money obsession. Her dad wasn't even putting in effort, to make his lyrics rhyme.

Natsuki's dad sang, "I know you spend lots of money, so you can go on dates. However, having loads of cash is more important. You have started using your own money, to buy things, which I appreciate. However, I still want you to save money, because I like coming by your room and begging you, to give me money. Save your cash! Save your bills! Don't waste your allowance. If you want to have less money, then just give it to me."

Natsuki gave her dad a disapproving look and said, "Stop singing."

The dad replied, "Okay then."

A few seconds later, Yuuichi Tate came by. In order to look retro, he wore an outfit, that was from 1992. He sang, "Natsuki, I know you're dating someone else, but I don't like that. I don't want you to hug a bat or kiss a rat. I can act like a cat, but you treat me like a doormat. When I eat junk food, I become fat. I like wearing a hat. The garbage dump is where I last sat. If you won't hug me, can you give me a pat. What do you think of that?"

Natsuki angrily sighed and replied, "Yuuichi, you and my dad need to stop singing." Yuuichi and Natsuki's dad were desperate and immature. The dad danced around and kept singing about saving money, while Yuuichi danced around and sang about wanting to date Natsuki.

A few minutes later, Shizuru came by and saw Yuuichi and the dad's concert. Shizuru looked at Natsuki and said, "Greetings, my darling love. What are they doing?"

Natsuki replied, "They're trying, to dress and sing, in an old-fashioned way, because of train tracks being an old-fashioned thing. It's also because my dad is greedy, when it comes to saving money and Yuuichi doesn't mind his own business, when it comes to my love life. He should know, that I could never fall in love with him, because my love for you is stronger, than any feeling I've ever had."

Shizuru smiled and replied, "I feel the same way about you, honey." She rested her head on Natsuki's shoulder, while saying, "Take a look, at the amazing train tracks."

Natsuki responded, "I don't mean any disrespect, but I don't get what's special, about some train tracks."

Shizuru replied, "Train tracks are a traditional item, that all cities used to have. This city hasn't had them, in several years, so this is a major event."

Natsuki looked at the train tracks and wasn't that impressed. She had been on a train, a few times. She thought it was interesting enough, at first, but after the first couple of times, it seemed kind of boring. She respected the fact, that people are full of nostalgia. However, Natsuki didn't have nostalgia, for outdated forms of transportation, as well as, bad singing and dancing.

Several minutes later, Gonna Getcha came by. He was wearing a black suit and top hat. He looked around and noticed that Shizuru wasn't with Natsuki, because she was going to powder her house. The villainous fiend ran up to her and said, "Prepare to suffer the wrath, of my new plan. Well, it's my newest plan, but it's based on an old-fashioned gimmick."

Shizuru nervously asked, "What's going on?"

Gonna Getcha grabbed her and said, "You're going to be assisting my plan, Shizuru Fujino. You see, I know Natsuki can't be beaten, because of my old-fashioned techniques. However, I'm going to use an old-fashioned plan, to distract her, while I become rich."

Shizuru had a confused look on her face, while asking, "What are you talking about?"

Gonna Getcha started putting rope on Shizuru, while saying, "I'm going to have you be tied, to the train tracks. That way, Natsuki will be focused, on saving her damsel-in-distress, while I'll be focused, on robbing the bank." He did an evil laugh, while picking up Shizuru and putting her on the train tracks. He started running away, while twirling his mustache.

Natsuki looked down and quickly noticed, that Shizuru had been tied to the train tracks. The next train wasn't scheduled to come, for the next few hours. However, that didn't mean Natsuki didn't feel scared, from seeing the love of her life, in such a dangerous predicament.

Natsuki jumped onto the train tracks and started pulling on the rope. The rope was stronger, than Natsuki was expecting. She grabbed a pocket knife, out of her jacket, and used it, to cut the ropes. She used the pocket knife very gently and carefully, to keep Shizuru from getting hurt. She said, "Shizuru, don't move, while I'm cutting the ropes. Otherwise, you'll get hurt."

Shizuru replied, "I understand."

A moment later, the ropes were cut and Shizuru was okay. She jumped into Natsuki's arms and kissed her. She said, "Thank you, my knight in shining armor."

Natsuki gently set Shizuru down and said, "I have to catch Gonna Getcha." Natsuki started running. Gonna Getcha wasn't a very fast runner, so it only took her a few minutes, to catch up with him. Gonna Getcha was tired and weak, because of all the running. Because of that, he didn't give Natsuki much of a fight. It only took Natsuki a minute, to knock the villain down and used rope, to tie him up.

After Gonna Getcha had been arrested, Natsuki walked back to Shizuru. Shizuru said, "I think I was wrong, for having so much respect and admiration, for nostalgia. Those train tracks and that perilous thing, of tying girls to them, is outdated and stupid."

Natsuki replied, "I agree with that, but I'm starting to see, that nostalgia has some value. Things are better, than they used to be, so it's easy, to ignore the past. However, there are things, that are worth having nostalgia for." She held hands with Shizuru, while saying, "I still have nostalgic memories, of our first date. It was six months ago, but it's certainly an event, that my brain remembers and my heart treasures."

Shizuru responded, "I remember that day, with extreme fondness. You were so shy and reluctant, about going on a date."

Natsuki replied, "I sure was, but it ended up being one of the best times, that I had ever had. I'm always going to be nostalgic, over our past dates, while eagerly awaiting our future dates."

Shizuru said, "So, we should respect the past, present, and future?" Natsuki nodded. Shizuru said, "Sounds like a trio of perfection, my love. I'm sorry, that you had to save me, once again."

Natsuki replied, "Shizuru, when it comes to heroic acts, there's nothing I'm more honored about, than saving you. Whether it be a mundane thing, like just coming by your house and cheering you up, or an adventurous thing, like saving you from a cartoony villain, I'm always going to save you."

Shizuru grinned and responded, "You're my hero."

Natsuki replied, "And you're the greatest gift, that my heart has ever experienced." Natsuki and Shizuru kissed each other, while Natsuki's dad and Yuuichi continued dancing and singing. Natsuki and Shizuru knew they'd always remember their past days and they were hyped, for their future dates. However, their primary focus was on the present and presently, they were the happiest couple in the world.
