My Moon My Sun
From the hot sun to the gentle cold rain,
Warm sand turns into a forest of green,
You stand against the world your eyes of grain,
Your shell like diamonds pale as the star's gleam.
You saved me more than you think you know,
I loved you, I still do, until you left,
You left to protect me but I really know,
Another took your place but I was spent.
Eyes of a predator watched us like prey,
Like prey we waited until she appeared,
Fangs and claws ripped apart the flesh of prey,
The battle for life but one was not spared.
A battle ends but another has begun,
A battle between my Moon and my Sun.
