"In all of time and space, where do you want to go?"
"...Surprise me."
A moment of thought and some control adjustments later, they're off.
The light on top flashes and the brilliance of the you-left-the-brake-on-again-Doctor noise is heard: a sort of sci-fi, wheezing groan.
EERrwWwoooooSHHHhEERrwWwoooooSHHHhEERrwWwoooooSHHHh...
The police box dematerializes.
Shaking and shuddering, the blue-box TARDIS tumbles through the time vortex. Rose clings to the metal railings of the alien vessel as the equally alien Doctor darts around the control console, pulling levers and pushing buttons in a manic dance.
Silence.
Stillness.
The TARDIS has landed.
The doors open on a new sight, a new world of so much contrast to the dirty, graffitied Earth alley that previously faced the doorway.
He walks out of the giant interior of his deceivingly small blue box, a fond smile on his face as he looks behind him and watches the human's reaction.
His blonde-haired companion, Rose Tyler, follows. Her chocolate eyes drink in the surrounding alien world, amazement shining through.
But it doesn't take long for the ever-watchful eye of the Time Lord to find something of interest to both of them.
The Doctor's tanned face lights up, grin spreading ear to big ear.
"Fantastic!" His northern voice cries, and he takes off. "Come on, Rose!" His U-boat Captain leather jacket flies behind him, and he clutches his sonic screwdriver in anticipation, dual hearts speeding.
A broad grin grows across her own face. "Doctor, slow down!" She calls, catching up. She doesn't notice him look down at her with another fond expression.
How could she?
Excitement awaits again. Where are they now? When are they now? Who knows what adventure lurks around the corner?
Rose just hopes to God that this isn't Raxacoricofallapatorius.
In fact, she should probably ask where and when they are...
She has no desire to run into the Slitheen again.
A/N Hullo! This is my first Doctor Who fic I'm posting on here and wouldn't you know it, I have to turn it in as a language arts project in about eleven hours. It's supposed to be a vignette- hence the name Snapshot- but I'm not sure how well I did at that...
If anyone wishes me to continue with little snapshots of the Doctor and his adventures as far as I have seen, then I'm open to suggestions! If not, I may just use this as an "Exterminate the Writer's Block" story. :)
Please tell me what you think! Feedback is much appreciated and flames go to give new life to my fake fireplace. ;)
