It'd been a long day; packing and packing...moving from one house to another was one hell of a chore for sure. Not that it was going to stop my mother from forcing me to bend over backwards just to help her and the step-family. Woken by a blaring alarm, I thought the worst thing that I would have to face was going to be just sorting through what to keep and what not to, I was wrong.
At first, what started out as a little itch in the back of my head had turned into a full scale, scorching headache. Like a clam to be cracked, the pearl, that is my brain, inside me felt heavy and cold despite the discomforting heat. Almost like there was a tumor against my brain. It didn't actually hit me completely until I was out in the front yard with my younger sister. For a better part of the day, it was just a slow burn. Nothing too bad or big to worry about. Then, suddenly; I'm on the sidewalk stacking boss one minute and the next I'm grabbing my head and barreling head first onto the road. Thinking back, I think I can remember the sound of tires screeching against the pavement of the road.
Not that it mattered now, though. Where I was, well...there was no road. There was no need for road. Though honestly I wish there was. Then that'd mean I was outside and one step ahead on the...road to home. No pun intended. Well, maybe just a little bit.
