Sam sat on the steps of Ridgeway, her head in her hands. She had no idea what was wrong with her, but had a pretty good idea of what wasn't.
She wasn't in love…
With Brad.
Brad was sweet, kind, considerate and everything Sam could ever want from a boyfriend. He made incredible fudge and was amiable and agreeable no matter what. Carly's words echoed in her head.
"Don't you want a nice boyfriend?"
It way obviously meant to be a rhetorical question, but the answer was, oddly enough, no. Sam didn't want a 'nice' boyfriend. Sam wanted someone who would drive her to the brink of insanity, and pull her back. Someone who wouldn't just hand her everything she wanted, someone who would make her fight.
Brad would be uncontroversial. Brad would be good to her. Brad would call when he said he would. Sam would have to be crazy not to want someone so incredible. And she was. Sam had only very recently accepted something that made her see how outstandingly insane she was. In all fairness though, it wasn't her fault. It was his. God damn Freddie Benson.
If it wasn't for his incredible geeky tech-ness, he wouldn't have become the technical producer for iCarly. If it weren't for him being the technical producer of iCarly, her feelings wouldn't have changed from mild dislike to hatred to vague friendship. If it weren't for him being around so much, she wouldn't have discovered he'd never kissed a girl, so she wouldn't have revealed that to everyone online. If she hadn't felt bad about doing that to a friend, she wouldn't have gone to see him on that cursed fire escape. They wouldn't have shared their first kiss. He wouldn't have become her best friend. She wouldn't have become dependent on seeing him everyday, hearing his musical laughter, watching his stupid perfect smile light up his stupid amazing face.
If it weren't for her being in love with him, she wouldn't have been so crazy.
Then, because fate just loved to mess around with people, just as Sam was pondering all this, a voice floated across the courtyard and yanked her from her thoughts.
"Yo yo…"
A/N Just a random oneshot… I might this a series of oneshots, not in any particular order or sequence. Remember to review and I'll send you a puppy!
