"Sonic…"

Sonic opened his eyes to the soft voice. The first thing he saw was red. The blood. It was everywhere. On the ground, on him… and coming from Amy. He was laying on her, the moon high in the sky. In the distance, he heard someone, some voice he didn't know, calling his name. Sonic looked down, realizing what he had done.

"Amy…." He whispered her named softly, then moved so that he was sitting with her on his lap. "Amy, I'm so sorry…" He couldn't do anything but whisper.

"Sonic… you…" She chuckled, flinching in pain. "It wasn't your fault. You didn't know what you were doing. I forgive you…"

He looked down to where his claws ripped into her body. "The… The blood," he sobbed, "There's so much blood!" He couldn't look away from her injury, couldn't remove his claw for fear of injuring her further. Tears leaked through his eyes. Amy put her hand on his face and forced him to look up, into her pain-filled eyes. She wouldn't cry, she told herself, for his sake. She had to believe she would survive, even though she knew she was going to die.

"Sonic," she said, and he could see the light leaving her eyes. "Sonic, I forgive you. I still… love…. you….." She said with her last breath. Sonic watched as her heart quit beating, he held her as her body grew colder and colder. He held her tight, trying to force more warmth into her, trying to get her still heart to continue beating.

He knew it was futile, he knew it was too late. He closed her eyelids, tears falling onto her face. The face that would never smile again. The face that would haunt his dreams every night. The face he had come to love. He gasped, realizing that he loved her. But now it was too late.

"Amy. I… I love you too…." He said to her. Then he howled. He howled for her. He howled for his anguish. Miles away, people could hear the strangled cry, no one missed how sad it sounded. He howled with tears in his eyes, for his lost love. He howled into the morning, when he changed back into his normal self.

When he had changed back, he tried to remember. He remembered being mad, losing himself to his darker side. He remembered Amy coming towards him, trying to calm him down. Trying to stop him from hurting anyone. "Great plan, Amy," he said to the air, "Well, you stopped me from hurting someone unimportant." He looked into her calm face, at her unbreathing form. "I only killed the person I love." He said as fresh tears sprang into his eyes.

He sat clutching his knees to his chest crying.

Sonic jolted awake. "Wha?" He asked groggily. He looked around saw that he had fallen asleep on the hill overlooking the ocean. He felt something in his lap. Fearing the worst, he looked down. There was Amy, sleeping with her head in his lap. He jumped, causing her to wake up.

"Sonic?" She asked. "Are you ok? You seem kind of scared."

Sonic sighed in relief. A dream. It was just a dream. Amy was alive and well, talking to him, concerned for him. "I'm ok, Amy," he said, pulling her into a hug.

"Sonic, what are you doing?" She asked in surprise.

"I'm just glad you're ok." He could feel tears in his eyes as Amy started to pull away. "No. Don't leave." She stopped, confused.

"Sonic?" He just hugged her tighter. She hugged back. "I love you…" She whispered.

"I love you too, Amy." Amy looked into his eyes and blushed. They lay together and slept for the rest of the day.

Wow. That's kinda dark. I didn't make Amy die at the end, don't hate me for it. Just, long story short: I should never be left bored. At all. Something like this happens.

just tell me what you think. plz. thank you and goodnight.
