"America, we could really use a hand here," Britain began.
"No way, dude. I have enough problems with my government and I'm starting to feel a little better from my depression. If I join the war, I bet I'll become suicidal," America said stubbornly, trying to make Britain see why he couldn't help.
"I know that you're going through this condition, but you can't just ignore Germany's crazy boss. Look at what the bloody wanker is doing." Britain was willing to make America see his reasons for fighting. "Plus, he's closing in on my people and he's already got a piece of France."*
America stared at Britain. "Sucks for you guys. I'm trying to stay neutral, you know? I'll die of depression faster than getting shot in the war."
Britain gave him a sympathetic look. "Alright, then. Sorry to have bothered you, America. Although, we were looking for a leader…." Britain trailed off there, inviting America and tempting him with the word 'leader'. He knew him too well.
"Nah, it's cool. And you should try it, Britain. Being the hero's fun," America said.
A U.S. military soldier walked into the small conference room and interrupted the meeting the two nations were holding.
"Sir, excuse the interruption, but we have been informed that Pearl Harbor has been bombed by Japan," the soldier said.
"What?" America asked with wide eyes.
"That's terrible!" Britain said.
"As soon as more reports come in, we'll inform you of the situation," the soldier continued.
America stood rigidly. His peaceful, little harbor was gone because of his friend, Japan?
"Hey, Britain, you still need my help?"
"Yes, quite a lot, actually."
America turned to look at him. "For the record, this is for my harbor."
Britain smiled. "So you'll join us?"
"Join you?" America asked. "Haha! The hero never joins. The hero leads the way!"
A/N: * is for info. According to Eddi Izzard, Southern France was helping Germany out in WW2. I don't know if using his info is accurate, but I tried. Also, Germnay's boss closing in on Britain's people meant that his soldiers were being wiped out. Very badly. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed! R/R, plz. Support is love!
